Information thanks to the Grand Comics Database
Shiver and Shake was a British comic magazine published every Monday by IPC Magazines Ltd. It ran from (issues dates) 10 March 1973 to 5 October 1974, when it merged with Whoopee!. As in the tradition of British comics many names of strips were a play on popular television programmes and films of the time. Similar to Monster Fun later, the theme of the strips were mainly horror (albeit of a comic nature). Indeed Frankie Stein appeared in both comics. Borrowing from the successful Whizzer and Chips, it was two comics in one; Shake being a pull-out section from Shiver. The main star of Shiver was a ghost of the same name, whilst Shake was an elephant. Both had their own strips in their respective sections (The Duke’s Spook and Shake), The Duke’s Spook changing to Shiver after its merger. In 1973, the comic also featured a one page strip starring stand-up comedian Charlie Williams.

The misunderstanding, was because of Jack Mikel. He prepared the date and numbering guide based on the 18 month period. To err is Human. Sorry once more. As the truth
has now come to light, it is better now. At least we now know about the 4 week gap, due to industrial action.

The Key to how to know from issue 70 -79, about the dates not following on from number 69, with gap in between, is if you look at back page of each issue, Creepy Creations, always had number of Creepy Creation, which corresponded to issue number.

I just thought something Funny, all the confusion over Shiver and Shake, shows how
Spooky it all is. Ha Ha ! Or as Ian will say Doodle Dum Doodle Doo, then he blame Disaster Des for it all. Although he has nothing to do with Shiver and Shake, as he was from Cheeky Weekly.

Oh well, i settle for a Cheeky Shiver and a Weekly Shake.

Sounds like a couple of Drinks. The Weekly Shake is some kind of Milkshake that you drink weekly, I guess. But what on earth is a Cheeky Shiver?
