Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

Thanks for the reply. In fact some of the Fleetway publications were translated into a south Indian language in 1970s featuring Johnny Nero, Steel claw and Barracuda. In my young age I used to read them. Only now I came to know of the original English versions, thanks to your humongous efforts.
By the way, there was one ‘Indrajal comics’ active in India in the 60s and 70s featuring Phantom and Mandrake under ‘Times of India’ brand, licenced from ‘King features’. Now they are freely available in the Net.
I thought of sharing this. Thanks.

Yes I just saw. I posted following 2 queries at the 2 links shown below.

I have an old Indrajal issue containing only a few pages (without the cover pages) featuring the Phantom. This talks about young “Kit and Caribo” who reached Americas before other Europeans. Kit was a cabin boy in Columbus’ ship. The following links show the artwork connected with that issue; it’s in Bengali language. Can anyone tell which is it’s English equivalent? And the link for that?

This following issue explains the evolution of the money (monitory system) nicely. I am unable to get this in the Net anywhere. Does any one have the link? I have copy with a few pages missing.

The scanned pages for the above link i.e., ‘uncle scrooge and money’ has a minor error: page 12 and 14 to be interchanged or renamed. This I compared with my hard copy. Rest seem to be OK.

Hi Boutje, Belated Happy New Year, this old man has to catch up slowly.
Many thanks again to you for a brilliant site, and to all contributers.
Tried to download latest ‘Swift’ section and had following message:-
“Pagina niet gevonden
Het opgegeven document is niet gevonden op deze server.
Klik hier om terug te keren”
Sorry if this is in ‘Dutch’ I cannot interpret, appologies.
Tried other Comic sections and got same message, and not able to download.
Can if be fixed???

The downloads are working for me. Perhaps it was something temporary or else because the Swift page is renewed, perhaps the old one is still in your cache ?

If you mean the David McKay publications, they are not British publications (although David himself was born in Scotland) if i am correct. When i find them they will probably end up in the Family Comics blog.

There was a Magic Comic published by DC. Thompson published from 1939 to. 1941. I don’t recall if it was on the list of titles you can’y use or not. Now that I think of it Football Picture Story was not on that list, so s there any chance of ever seeing more of those.

So that magic Comic is a nono for the blog, when i get/find more FPS they will be on the blog offcourse.

Hello boutje,
this blog of yours is super! Since I first got my hands on an Amiga 500 and an hand held SCSI scanner I had the idea to digitize my collection of the Picture Library comics, but after a couple of numbers I got derailed by other things and forgot about it.
Now I can enjoy this incredible collection and with Steve Holland precious index can select my favorite authors and collect them in a single ‘volume’ to read it on a tablet…
Thanks so much to you and to all this great community for their efforts.
I can also imagine how difficult it may be to organize the vast collection of different series and sometime I get lost keeping track of the numbers I already got and the newer ones, ending up in downloading the same archives: it would be great if you can implement a solution to collect all the links for a series in a dedicated section i.e. sometime the links are mixed within the updates and are not listed on a dedicated series page…
Cheers & thanks again!

Now Brexit happened, will any law change that DC Thompson can’t take any ridiculous action of removing something they haven’t republished in ridiculous time, and any chance of either the Punisher from 1989 or savage action from the early 80s?

I am afraid Brexit will not change anything concerning copyrights infringements. When i find/get the titles you mention they will show up on the blog offcourse.

I am working on reorganizing some Picture Libraries, (i like to have them all organized like Battle Picture) but it’s kinda difficult to get them chronologically organized in years, there are no dates inside most of the time. I can remember that someone posted a link with some information on Picture Libraries but it’s lost somewhere on one of my drives. Does anyone knows where i can find information on the publishingdates for Picture Libraries ?

One word of warning. His dating for Starblazer is incorrect. The first three were issued at the rate of one a month. From 4 and five on it was two a month. He has it backwards.

It’s rather confusing anyway with picture libraries, like Commando that had/has 2 until 8 issues each month.

Hi Boutje
Another way to get the details (although more time consuming) is to check the individual titles on GCD and check the cover gallery.
Comic Vine is another source but their details are sketchy at best.
