Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

As a newbie to your site, I saw that you had Valiant (a comic that my dad read to me as a kid) I went to download some but they are all missing. Both Valiant 60s and 70s.

I’ve reorganized the page with the Buster Books. Buster Book 1963 was actually the Buster Book Of Thrills, so if anyone has the correct Book 1963 and would like to share it, it will make the books complete i believe.

I noticed you have Indiana Jones Comics or Magazines in two different places on your Blog.

first, on the main home page of british comics and second, on television and movie blog.

Anyway, I had found this Indiana Jones 01 (1991-10) (Trident Comics), which you do not have, so I had sent it through Andy.

You noticed that correct, the reason is that on this blog it’s the British Indiana Jones Monthly and on the Movie and Television blog are other series, mostly US. You will see more of the same titles on different blogs for the same reason. Also on the Newspaperblog are titles combined with other blogs, because some are Newspaperstrips and other regular comics. Thanks for the Trident Indiana Jones.

Big Comic Fortnightly #1 has pages 49 & 50 missing

Big Comic Fortnightly #3 has pages 49 & 50 missing

The Comics should have 52 pages.

In Renumbering the pages in fixing them, this became obvious to me.

Would you like me to sent these for you to see?

Found something interesting by reading Tiger from your website. According to the Roy of the Rovers, Roy’s father is a Policeman and he met Blackie Grey when he joined the reserve team, Blackie is also much older. Wen they ran Roy’s School Day’s, Roy meets Blackie in school and his father works in the defence industry.

That is odd indeed, perhaps because so many writers wrote stories for Roy and they had different interpretations on some events that occured in the stories.

roy of the rovers was also a comic strip, not only in the comic Roy of the Rovers and Tiger, but had a newspaper comic strip prior it was putinto comics, that is why somethings are different.

Roy’s School Days was in Tiger the same as Roy of the Rovers. This is the 50s & 70s. If you are on about the comic strip in Match of the Day magazine then I think that was in the 90s. As a reader in the 70s it took me over 40 years to know this. The turnover of readers meant that in the 70s nobody noticed the anomaly as they hadn’t read the comic in the 50s.
