Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

I’ve reorganized the page from Bullet.
I’ve reorganized the page from Buzz, and gave it a place between the coverlinks.
Almost half of them are better qualityscans so it could be worth to download them again if you are interested in better resolutions.

Cor!! Annual 1972 (fixed) and now ready.

I will stop for awhile, a couple of days to prepare more, then upload again.

Also to give you chance to organise the others already sent you.

It is a pleasure to be of service, to help in your great comic website.

Hello Andy. I was working on reorganizing Cheeky Weekly and noticed that the Annuals and Specials all have correctly numbered pages and the right sequences. Perhaps you are mistaken. I will take a quick look at the other fixes and see what i have when i reorganize the pages for that titles. Better check before you do more work that’s not need to be done.

    PS.

Just checked the Cor Annuals to be sure, they are all correctly numbered also. So i begin to fear all your work was idle.

i appreciate how you view things, but a lot of the comic annuals are wrongly paged numbered with pages missing, and when correctly numbered with pages missing in between, you can see more clearly which pages to get.

Also, some Specials are wrongly named, for example the various Buster Specials, so renaming them you can see which other specials to find.

Unless you compare what is inside with what you got, you will never know the difference.

I will stop assist you, if that’s what you want.

Keep up the good work as best as you think is best for you.

Sometimes there are different perspectives of seeing things.

    I understand.

anyway, it is not a waste of time for me, as I have them named the way I want them for my collection.

Sometimes, you have numbers jump in two’s, in those cases, I fixed those numbers to show all page numbers for example if you have 02 followed by 04 , I had correct it to show 02, 03 then next double page to show 04, 05.

other files have the word img followed by scan number, which is this case replace with only numbered pages.

then, some pages missing, added some pages found, which were missing.

So, here is a few examples of my clarification of what I mean.

I know it is painstaking task, however a job that requires careful fixing is worthwhile in the long run.

also sometimes due to index files, pages sometimes are in the wrong sequence because of missing 0 in front of a number.

Andy. The mails i send you keeps bouncing back, address not exist.
I don’t want to start a discussion but i find it really unnecessary to replace all Specials and Annuals that you fixed, all Annuals and Specials on the blog can be read just in a normal way with CDisplayEx and Comicrack and for those that want to unzip the cbr, the pages still can be showed in the proper order. Besides that you only numbered the pages 001 002 003 and so on, and i keep all pages with the names given by the scanner because they have most of the time the name of that issue en issuenumber and sometimes the name from the scanner also incorporated, i don’t like to meddle with that. Can be confusing also for those who unzip the cbr and all they get is 001 002 003. Offcourse everyone can change the way of numbering for their own needs en collections, that’s up to everyone. As for missing pages in Annuals and Specials and wrongly named Specials, these are totally different matters and has nothing to do with this discussion.

sorry, if I came across demanding or unreasonable.

I have been under tremendous pressure to meet certain deadlines for other things too in life,

Still, I find it quite amazing how you manage with all your work on your wonderful comic blog.

It must be tiring sometimes for you too, with all the organising of your wonderful comic blog.

Thanks for your great work that your doing.

I understand, just make sure you meet your personal deadlines, that’s more important than a comicblog. Thanks, but actually it’s never tiring for me to do things for the blog, i find it rather relaxing to do most of the time, and when i don’t feel to occasionally, i just do something else for awhile. Good luck with the deadlines and other personal things.

I’ve reorganized the page from Cheeky Weekly and gave it a place between the coverlinks.
On the old page there was a duplicate, 87 was the same as 84, i found the correct one. The missing one on the old page was 1979-07-07, it is there now.
That’s a good thing also with reorganizing, you come along the double dates (no pun intended) also this way.

I’ve reorganized the page from Cor!! and gave it a place between the coverlinks.

I’ve reorganized the page from Cracker, was already between the coverlinks.

I’ve reorganized the page from Krazy and gave it a place between the coverlinks.

Thanks, i try to give the more significant British titles a place between the coverlinks, but i have to be careful and use not too much covers at the homepage, perhaps some will have a slow loading page otherwise.

according to the comicpriceguide.co uk Buster Comic Library #29 wasn’t distributed in the UK at the time as the cover depicted Buster and friend playing with fireworks but it does show up with international price stickers once in a while.
