Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

What a gold-mine! My kids have just discovered comics which is great to help with their reading, so being able to share these with them is just amazing. I can’t start to weigh up the effort that went into scanning and cataloguing these collections, so a massive thank you to everyone involved.

My question is, do you (or anyone) have links to whole collections (i.e. all the Beano comics) rather than me manually going and downloading each set? It could take some time 🙂

If not, no problem… I can download quicker than they can read!

    Thanks again,
    Rob.

I am afraid that i don’t have links to complete collections, because everytime i find or get issues the collections change, i think you have to look at torrentsites to find links for complete collections.

      Hi boutje

In your previous update from 23/01/2019 you state there are 21 issues of Smash. However, on the actual Smash page, I only count 20 issues uploaded on 23/01/2019. I am wondering if you missed one out. Can you check which is the correct number.

Hello. I can only find 20 also, must have noticed a double one at the last moment and left that one out, i can see on my drive all issues has numbers and only one has a date perhaps that’s the cause, or i made a typo. I count 219 regular issues and 10 Annuals and Specials in total.

Sent this message last year and got no response, but figured there’s no harm in trying again: There was a comic Grant, Bisley, and Wagner (some of the guys from 2000ad) did in the 90s called The Dirty Dog, aka Shit The Dog that was released in 4 “poster magazines” and was featured later in some issues of a comic called Wasted that was released by a comic company called Bad Press Ltd. Is there a chance you could get those up on this site? I have a few issues of Wasted and the first issue of Shit The Dog and wish to read the rest of them. There was also a comic similar to Viz called Gas that I’m interested in, if you can get it.

Thanks for the latest update, especially the issues of Smash and Scorcher. It’s great to see the Scorcher annuals finally turning up.

However, from the latest update, Scorcher 209 [1974-01-05] is incomplete – the second page of the ‘Nipper’ story (page 21) is missing.

Otherwise, there seems to be only 11 issues of Scorcher still to find. These are:

    153, 157, 158, 165, 167, 213, 214, 217, 219, 225, 227.

A note about Scorcher issue 217.
I found some information on Blimey! The Blog of British Comics by Lew Stringer.
He mentions that there are 2 different issues cover dated 23-02-1974. Due to a printing error, the second one is actually the 02-03-1974 issue.
Therefore, if anyone has an issue dated 23-02-1974 with a different cover to the one on this page, it is actually the 02-03-1974 issue (i.e. issue #217) and is one of the few remaining issues that we still need to find. Apologies if this fact is already known to Scorcher fans. . .

I know I’ve mentioned this one before. Scorcher issue 064 [1971-03-27] is also still incomplete – Page 15 (2nd page of ‘The Amazing Strollers’ story) is missing.
