Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

Also other news coming on 25 July 2019 will be the release of the graphic novel Leo Baxendale’s Sweeney Toddler, which I look forward to get also.

Produced by Innovative Communications, Triffik! was a British weekly comic that was intended to appeal to modern kids more than existing fare such as the Beano. It launched with extremely optimistic sales expectations and correspondingly expensive publicity and costly high print runs, and died a quick death after only twelve issues.

I think we still need the first issue of the year, Buster 1982-01-02. I wondered if that week had no issue, but after checking the stories inside of 1981-12-26 and 1982-01-09, it’s clear that an installment is missing; Barry and Boing ends 1981 with the current storyline resolved, and 9th January’s installment starts with them facing a stampede, clearly following on from a cliffhanger ending.

        Terry Bave 1931 – 2018

I was so sorry to hear of the sad passing of the mighty Terry Bave. Terry of course drew Calculator Kid for Cheeky Weekly and the successful character continued in Whoopee! after Cheeky’s comic came to an end. There was a time when it seemed Terry had artwork appearing in just about every comic in publication, with a never-ending roster of hugely popular characters created in collaboration with his wife Shiela. I always found Terry’s artwork to be very appealing, and he depicted a world that was, despite the regular appearance of bullies who were a staple of comic scripts of the period, very cosy and reassuring as justice was always served by the end of the story. It’s impossible to imagine the heyday of British comics without Terry’s vibrant and always amusing strips. What a great legacy he leaves behind.

My thoughts are with his family, friends and countless fans.

    Re: The Hornet.

I have discovered that pages 7-26 in Hornet 435 [1972-01-08] are the same as in Hornet 490 [1973-01-27].

The pages seem to belong to the latter, which means there are 20 pages missing from issue 435 [1972-01-08]. Therefore, this issue will need to be rescanned with the missing 20 pages.

    Also, pages 28 & 29 are missing from Hornet 586 [1974-11-30].
