Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

I have the whole collection of Peter Porker the Spectacular Spider-Ham. I check first to see if it is uk comic. If it is I will upload later. Before I do I will tell you how many issues it was and when published dates. It definitely is Marvel comics making fun of spiderman, with a pigs snout showed, although he has his mask on, you can see the shape of a pig snout under the mask.

Thanks to everyone for all the latest comics.
Do you want to add Sonic the Comic? There were 171 comics before 2000, so a few to add. Sonic the Comic 1-40 (all seem to be a page short):

Thanks to leemcdaid for the missing issues of Lion and the HUGE number of missing Scorcher issues.

It has taken me some time to go through the 52 issues of Scorcher provided by leemcdaid and 49 of them are perfect.Just a note about 3 of them.

Issue 72 was actually Issue 70 which is already on the Scorcher page. Therefore, issue 72 is still needed and should have the date 1971-05-22

Issue 107 [1972-01-22] is missing two pages (p15 & p16) (incomplete ‘Spy Between The Sticks’ story)

Issue 108 [1972-01-29] is missing one page (p29) (incomplete ‘Jimmy of City’ story)

If alternate or complete issues of these exist, that would be great. The standard size seems to be 32 pages.

Just an update on the issues of Scorcher still missing (50 in total). These are:

    072, 128, 137, 138, 139, 140, 141, 144, 147, 148, 150, 153, 154, 157, 158, 159, 160, 161, 162, 163, 164, 165, 167, 177, 178, 194,

    206, 209, 210, 211, 212, 213, 214, 215, 216, 217, 219, 220, 223, 224, 225, 226, 227, 228, 229, 230, 239, 241, 242, 245.

Dear boutje777 – I know that you have drawn a line at post year 2000 issues (as you say you have to draw a line somewhere) but may I make an appeal on the Commando Comics which are still in publication to this very day since July 1961 – now on issue #5106. The reason I ask for clemency on this publication is that at present half of the 8 issues they release every month, 4 issues are reprints currently coming from the early 1970’s and 1990’s. If there is already a source to gain these issues. I would be grateful for any info. on where I could find the more recent issues, unfortunately the site where I used to get them from for free no longer exists. Thank you.

    Re: Issues 78, 79, 84, 103, 116, 122 of Scorcher .
I seem to have these and assumed they would all be on the Scorcher page. Difficult to follow sometimes when the issues are not in sequence. I have no idea how to upload these to the main page myself. However, there are a number of files (filefactory) provided by Bryan last year (July/Aug/Sept), some on the main page and some on the Scorcher page. There is a filefactory link to issues 78 and 79 on the Scorcher page. The other filefactory links on the Scorcher page do not identify the individual issues. I am wondering whether they have been overlooked and whether the issues are in one of these files..

Sometimes a download is not working for me and i miss some issues, that is what happened with 78 and 79 i assume.
I made a list of all issues that are on the page of Scorcher right now, and placed it in a comment, just to make it a bit easier for you and others to know what is on and what not. I agree that you have to look thoroughly in most pages if you are searching for a particular issue, it’s a kind of a maze sometimes. But it’s not doable for me to place all the updates in between the issues right sequence everytime. That’s why i am reorganizing the complete titles so they are in the right sequence.
