Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

Smash is of particular interest because of its merger with Valiant on 10-04-1971 taking with it sories like ‘The Incredible Adventures of Janus Stark’ and ‘His Sporting Lordship’. Janus Stark was a particular favourite of mine when I was reading Valiant back in 1971 and I had actually forgotten that it originated in Smash following the relauch of this comic in 1969. Smash was originally published by Odhams Press and it was numbered up to issue 162 [1969-03-08]. Smash was then relaunched by IPC from 15-03-1969 but it was no longer numbered. I would like to complete the relauched (unnumbered) series of Smash and I have identified the following missing issues.

From 1969 – 11 missing issues and 1 incomplete issue:

    1969-05-24 [No.173]
    1969-06-28 [No.178]
    1969-07-05 [No.179]
    1969-07-12 [No.180]
    1969-07-19 [No.181]
    1969-08-30 [No.187]
    1969-09-13 [No.189]
    1969-10-04 [No.192] [Incompete – should be 40 pages]
    1969-11-29 [No.200]
    1969-12-06 [No.201]
    1969-12-13 [No.202]
    1969-12-20 [No.203]

    From 1970 – 25 Missing Issues:

    1970-01-03 [No.205]
    1970-01-10 [No.206]
    1970-02-14 [No.211]
    1970-02-21 [No.212]
    1970-02-28 [No.213]
    1970-03-07 [No.214]
    1970-03-28 [No.217]
    1970-04-04 [No.218]
    1970-04-11 [No.219]
    1970-04-18 & 1970-04-25 [No.220]

[I believe No. 220 is a combined issue based on a cover seen in GCD. I also believe this has caused inaccuracies with the remaining numbering]

    1970-07-04 [No.229 or 230]
    1970-07-11 [No.230 or 231]
    1970-07-18 [No.231 or 232]
    1970-07-25 [No.232 or 233]
    1970-08-01 [No.233 or 234]
    1970-08-08 [No.234 or 235]
    1970-08-15 [No.235 or 236]
    1970-08-22 [No.236 or 237]
    1970-09-05 [No.238 or 239]
    1970-09-12 [No.239 or 240]
    1970-09-19 [No.240 or 241]
    1970-09-26 [No.241 or 242]
    1970-10-03 [No.242 or 243]
    1970-10-31 [No.246 or 247]
    1970-11-14 [No.248 or 249][FINAL ISSUE PUBLISHED IN 1970]

I believe there was a printer’s strike (industrial action) between Nov 1970 and Feb 1971 and no issues were published for about 3 months.I believe that following the printer’s strike only 9 further issues of Smash were published from 06-02-1971 to 03-04-1971 before its merger with Valiant on 10-04-1971..

    From 1971 – 7 Missing Issues:

    1971-02-06 [No.249 or 250]
    1971-02-13 [No.250 or 251]
    1971-02-20 [No.251 or 252]
    1971-02-27 [No.252 or 253]
    1971-03-13 [No.254 or 255]
    1971-03-27 [No.256 or 257]
1971-04-03 [No.257 or 258] [FINAL ISSUE OF SMASH]

Can anybody help with these missing issues from the relauch series of Smash (44 in total).

Great work Lee. Thanks for the missing issues of the relaunched Smash! (aka Smash! vol. 2). However, of these 16 issues of Smash! provided 5 of them are duplicates. I still think this may be partly due to numbering inaccuracies because of combined issues that I have spotted, i.e. 18/25 April 1970 and 06/13 June 1970 are combined issues. After checking the numbering again, I think the correct numbering of the 33 remaining issues is as follows:

From 1969 โ€“ 10 Missing Issues and 1 Incomplete Issue:
    1969-05-24 [No.173]
    1969-06-28 [No.178]
    1969-07-05 [No.179]
    1969-07-12 [No.180]
    1969-07-19 [No.181]
    1969-08-30 [No.187]
    1969-09-13 [No.189]
    1969-10-04 [No.192] [Incompete โ€“ should be 40 pages]
    1969-12-06 [No.201]
    1969-12-13 [No.202]
    1969-12-20 [No.203]

    From 1970 โ€“ 17 Missing Issues:
    1970-01-03 [No.205]
    1970-02-14 [No.211]
    1970-02-28 [No.213]
    1970-03-07 [No.214]
    1970-03-28 [No.217]
    1970-04-04 [No.218]
    1970-04-11 [No.219]
    1970-04-18+25 [No.220]
    1970-07-04 [No.229]
    1970-07-11 [No.230]
    1970-07-18 [No.231]
    1970-08-01 [No.233]
    1970-08-15 [No.235]
    1970-08-22 [No.236]
    1970-09-12 [No.239]
    1970-09-19 [No.240]
    1970-10-31 [No.246]

    From 1971 โ€“ 5 Missing Issues:
    1971-02-06 [No.249]
    1971-02-20 [No.251]
    1971-03-13 [No.254]
    1971-03-27 [No.256]
1971-04-03 [No.257] [FINAL ISSUE OF SMASH]

It might be better to check these via the dates rather than the numbering to avoid duplication. Thanks in advance if you are able to help with any of these issues.

I have browsed through the 147 issues of Bullet and I found 3 issues which are incomplete. These are:

Bullet 056 – missing page 20 (3rd page of ‘Fireball’ story)
Bullet 077 – missing page 35 (3rd page of ‘Young Fireball’ story) and back cover
Bullet 087 – missing page 35 (3rd page of ‘Tasker’ story) and back cover.

Please note that the current issue of Bullet 087 has 64 pages. This is because every page (apart from the cover) has been duplicated.

Does anyone have the complete issues of Bullet 056, 077, 087.

Thanks to Lee and to Leegs for locating those two complete issues of Bullet.

I believe that just leaves issue 56 which is currently missing page 20 (i.e. page 3 of an 8 page Fireball Story) to be added and, hopefully the 147 issues of Bullet should finally be done.

I was also browsing through some issues of Warlord. Itโ€™s great that we now have all 627 issues of Warlord. However, I have discovered that issues 133 and 134 are incomplete.

Page 24 missing from issue 133 (Code-Name Warlord)
Page 35 and 36 missing from issue 134 (Parkerโ€™s Private Army).

I realised that I put this comment on the Warlord page yesterday. Not sure whether it was supposed to go on the main page or whether it even matters. Apologies for any unnecessary duplication.

No problem, you may put it on the page where you think it’s best or on 2 pages. I think myself the main page is best because this is the page that most people read when they visit the blog.

I noticed when i place the Bullets 77 and 87 on the downloadpage, these are all Adrive links, these are going to be replaced with other links soon.
I try to get rid of all Adrive- and Usercloudlinks the next months.
If someone notice Adrive- or Usercloudlinks anywhere please let me know so i don’t have to check all links individually.

Also try to reorganize the pages with issues that are complete, with downloads from issue 1 and so on in the correct order without all the updates.
And try to reorganize pages like Smash with the issue dates instead of the numbering, i believe dates are more usable with correcting issues and place them in correct publishing order.

II have an appeal for friends who love comics, especially the English newspaper strips. Now I’m working on Romeo Brown. Does anyone have any history or even single strips of this character in good condition? Also in other language (not French and languages โ€‹โ€‹of the former Yugoslavia). Thank you.
