Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

This is a sad and an awful situation! My deepfelt thanks to boutje777 for all the joy and nostalgic feelings that his site and hard work has given me over the years!

what about moving this to Discord or something similar?
I know of other sites that have done that.
it will help preserve what you’ve accomplished but in a different format.

Hi boutje.
I’d just like to thank you, it’s been an Honour & a Privilege, being able to access site. Whatever you decide to do, it’s your decision.
You must have put thousands of hours in over the years, in order that others / we could enjoy our youth & memories.
These big (small) boys with their “Take Down Notice”, their not going to do anything with their archive copies now you’ve take yours down.
The only thing this is going to do now is fuel the selling of the comic names you’ve taken down, on the dreaded ebay.
Those who continually ripped from your site with be listing like mad.
I know it’s going to be a big decision for you to stay or go, but whatever you decide, we’ll respect your decision .
Thank you for a wonderful site.

I agree with everyone comments and thank boutje777 for pulling together this fantastic British Comic resource and appreciate all the hard work to maintain and update the website. It’s given me many hours of pleasure in not just viewing the comics but contributing my own scans over the years to help fill the gaps.

It’s juste impossible that British comics dies. sharThe thing to do is to send to Boutje all the news scans at a new adresse where he can make a monthly update, like he use to do ,
and then share a link where to get these update, and all this outside the sphere of Rebellion.
Juste need a link to upload and à link to downloads; Sure, it’s not so friendly like it use to be, but it would be a solution to perdure theses sharings of thoses wonderful comics
sorry for my bad english

I think some p2p tool will be great because you can share your files directly and you don’t have to upload anything

sorry chaps I missed all this not been on for a few days, so reading back. It seems a fine line has always been run on uploading and sharing material as we know, the inevitable happens in the end with owners of such material. I wish you luck to try find a way around this, we feel aggrevied BUt at the end of the day I guess if i owned material I wouldn’t want it given out freely. Hope it works out for everyone!
Another thing I suppose is this site (like many others) is free to find and access over the net without registration but even if you allowed registered users (is it possble) only membership how do you scruntinise who is joining, how do you find who has ill intentions and who is above board. This means someone with ill intentions can report very easy to WordPress a violation, whether this is jealousy or other reasons who knows but it happens in life. People “shop” others sometimes to gain a twisted satifaction.
Sites get driven underground when they have something to hide.
All the best chaps.

UPDATE TAKEDOWN
I made up my mind, i wil close this blog forever and don’t start something new. All other blogs remain for the time being, i stopped anyway updating and maintaining these blogs last year, so they remain as they are. Only the Newspaperblog i will keep updating. I will close the blog coming friday so anyone who wants to download something that is still available has this opportunity.
It’s to much to thank everyone personally in a comment, so thanks everyone for their visits, support, scans en uploads. Thanks for the comments and suggestions. (On the background Sid Vicious is singing My Way).

Obviously this is early days and everything’s happening so damn fast so im moving at warp speed which is hard when I suffer with anxiety so I’m hoping that some kind of solution can be found but given the notion that this site is primarily for archival purposes I would offer that while it lacks the finesse and makes future updating difficult that I have been experimenting with a certain archive site that allows access to the archived links still so at the least it would give an incentive to keeping this site up even if its not maintained. I hope you will consider this. Thank you

Could you please keep the site up so if people visit it they can use the wayback machine to access the links. Ive tried it and it works but you need to know the original link to do it. Thank you for all your hardwork in maintaining this site.

I support your decision 100%. Everything changes. Sometimes change, in it’s own strange way, can be the catalyst for something good elsewhere being born. Who knows? But personally, I feel it’s the right decision. I mean, let’s face it, I have a copy of virttually everything ever offered here – including the pre-DC Thompson ban – and I am sure many others are in the same position as myself, owning a complete ‘snapshot’ of everything. So as I say, who knows what the future holds…
Best of luck Boutje, you and this site won’t be forgotten.

Hi, from Spain, Is there a way to contact you privately?
It’s a shame because I used the material on your blog to investigate the relationship with magazines published in Spain in years prior to 1990.
Thanks

Hello Boutje
Will you close also the “american” part of you blog ?
Maybe with some members we could find a solution to make the english comics “1. endure v. (p.p.inv.2. go on and on v. (p.p.inv.)” ?
Anyway, thanks so much for all that you have done do save all these comics

There is no American part, but maybe you ment Comics For All, that blog stays as it is for the time being.

Boutje is potentially personally on Rebellion’s radar. I get that people are upset, but please bear that in mind and act with consideration. Boutje’s given us all a lot, pay that back with some respect for their feelings.
If you have an idea, do it yourself. Just don’t post about it here as we don’t know if these comments are bring seen by someone connected to the DMCA.

I understand what your saying and Im not trying to be ungrateful as I am extremley grateful but this has knocked me for 6 and made my anxiety go into overdrive. I was just suggesting there might be alternatives if the site stayed intact

Most of us are probably neurodiverse to some degree. It is about respecting Boutje’s decision and not putting undue pressure on someone who has done so much. If you were in Boutje’s shoes you’d expect that.
Something will emerge, it always does. But anyone sensible is going to let the dust settle a bit first, and also not expect our very gracious host to do anything that could potentially be seen as trying to circumvent the DMCA and potentially facing very real personal consequences.

Quite right. Well said. Forgive me. My anxiety is running away with itself. I am very grateful and I am very appreciative and as you say its best to bide time and be circumspect and I don’t want to upset Boutje. Hes been fantastic. Thank you for comment.

Dear Boutje: i understand your decision ad i think is the right decision. Your site about british comics is really a great place to look at and understand the hidden treasure of british comics of the past. The titles lost are too much. But You are an amazing scholar. Thank You very, very much, from an italian reader that can not be in touch with the comics of the past at that times. Great work Boutje!!

Dear Boutje
You certainly did it your way too.
Can you tell us when you intend to pull the plug on things? I’m sure people will want to check that they have fully backed up their comic collections -I have found a few holes in mine.
I hope you won’t disappear from the net, I’ve mainly been an observer over the years but there is a great community of comic fans that have come together as a result of your work and it would be a great shame to loose that. Any thoughts you might have on preserving this aspect of your creation?
With Best Wishes and Thanks furrballXL5 (Angus)
