Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

    18ish x 1930s Jesters.

The majority were scanned from a decaying bound volume that had a) been clearly scrapbooked and b) was so heavily sun-damaged several pages literally fell apart before I could do anything. So yeah, varying degrees of completeness and damage in there, I did mean to take a picture of the originals for curiosity but forgot. As paper tends to fragment from the edges a lot of the damage was to the gutters, but the centre spreads suffered badly, therefore there was no point in attempting to join most of them. Also meant there were no flat edges for scanning, which was _fun_

    Hi Boombox.

    Well done with the Jesters

Been a member of “CBP” for a long time now, the “Nelson Lee’s”, issues that I have aren’t on the CBP, already checked the numbers I have, against the ones listed.

Think I’ve roughly about a 100 issues or so, in varying conditions yet to be scanned, as & when I get round to them, but will put them on here first, when I eventually get round to it.

So much too scan these days, just not enough hours to fit it all in, lately.

    [1985] – Western Library – 02 – Beyond The Law – Ron Phillips (Upgrade)

Some of these “Ron Phillips”, seem to have been very poorly printed, on very cheap poor paper, back in the day.

You can see it in this issues, towards the back that they even clipped the edges of the text / dialogue boxes, when printing these & this was only issue 2 of 28, plus 5 Picture Library holiday specials

Not really sure about this one, not much info on the WWW, about it.

Seen a post that said it was from 1982 !!!, “Boutje”, if it’s not just delete it if it’s too new.

Glad to see that 74 of you enjoyed the [1977] – Score Annual.

    Regards.

Short answer: I would guess the Annie annual is probably 1983.

Long answer: It looks like in November 1982 a pair of comics were released in the USA to tie in with the Annie movie from the summer of that year. It looks like the annual contains the strips from those two comics, so most likely it was also released at the end of 1982, so would be a 1983 annual. I guess there is also a chance they missed the Xmas deadline, and didn’t release it until the year afterwards making it a 1984 annual. Personally I’m gonna call it 1983.

    Best wishes,

    CF.

What a fantastic, and frankly astonishing resource!

Thank you soooo much for taking the trouble to compile this.

Thanks also to all the scanners and uploaded.

This resource took me straight back to wonderful family memories of Christmas during the 1960s.

Thanks again for rekindling those memories.

Sorted my story paper scans out a bit at work and it threw up a few I couldn’t see on here. Mainly AP boys papers, but a couple from Newnes/Pearson’s etc, and a couple of comics that I’d misfiled. Credit to the original scanners as none of these are mine. Apologies if any are on the site and I missed them. It’s about 100 issues, so Big File.
