Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

Good morning everyone. This week i am going to prepare the next update, 300+ so that will take some time. If everything goes as planned this update will be relaeased in the week starting april the 15th. You can upload new issues in the comments, i will collect them and save them for the May update.

Nice! I will be a little slower in uploading anything for this week, as a page of a Jester issue literally crumbled, so I’m raw scanning the 40 or so prewar weekly issues ahead of any annuals amd doing any processing.

Thanks, good luck with scanning.

Reminds me of when Ken Burns was working on his documentary on Baseball. He found some footage of Babe Roof pitching for the Boston. However as we was watching it the footage crumbled in front of his eyes.

Honestly I am so obsessed with the preservation side of British comics. It’s so difficult to draw a bead on how many copies of most pre-war titles exist, and things like relatives doing a house clearance and just sticking piles of flaking grimy newsprint in the recycling are probably quite common, especially given anyone who read Comic Cuts or whatever as a kid is 75 minimum. I doubt Rebellion go to great lengths to ensure they have a full archive of titles with zero commercial appeal.
To my mind it’s why this place is so important.

Hi Boombox.
Quite agree, too much is just thrown away, without the thought of preserving it for future generations.
Saw these on the ebay earlier, would love to scan them & to preserve them & put them online for everyone to read but at that price, their way out of my league, think most peoples league, i’d say.

Also a shout-out to the random IPC staffer sent to pull a random Purita Campos Princess Tina cover to reuse and picked possibly the only one that’s actually based on a particular character, and one that very much does not appear in the annual.

Good news for people who only read the comics Pat Mills tells you to. As vaguely threatened some time ago I’ve had a crack at processing the Misty scans, trying to cut back on the noise and marks. Obviously there’s only so much that can be done with low-res files, and there’s some stuff that just wasn’t worth trying to tidy up.

I realise this approach isn’t to everyone’s taste but I’m also not forcing anyone to delete the others. There is a rescan of the 82 annual in there to replace the wibbly-wobbly vFlat one.
Did they ever actually fess up to just drawing Julie Burchill or was it one of those “so obvious there was no point” things?

Thank you very much. I will not make this part of an update, but present them as extra upgrade option on the Misty page to download and keep, or not. I will make a note in a comment when i did that.
