Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

Nothing personal, but most people that has problems with downloading always blame it on something else and in most cases if they spend some time looking what the problem is and search for a solution instead of spending time complaining, 90% of these problems can be solved by yourself. Dozens of people can download without any problems and in the long term even 100’s of downloads.

I agree. In the years I have been using your site and the thousands of downloads I have activated, I think only twice have I encountered a genuine error. People need to take time in exploring the different download options etc before going on a rant.

sorry to be a pain but this message is on all my devices, including my phone

Tried for days. Its got to be Google.

I tried other Google files from weeks ago on this site and get the same message.

Pity because I love your site.

I’ve occasionally had this message with new updates, but never with older downloads. It may be load throttling when too many people have jumped in in a short space of time.

Try leaving downloading new uploads for a few days and it sorts itself out.

That can be part of the problem also, for instance yesterday there were 441 visitors and today 465, say half of them wil download that still makes a few hundred that are downloading during that day.

Most issues with google are usually because you haven’t logged into google. I have had the message myself before. Every time I have an issue downloading with google its because i’m not logged in.

Thanks for an excellent update. Early Busters & Tigers are always good to see.

1982 Tammy Annual. Not a classic, very feature-y, but there we go.

How do people scan British comics? Most seem to be larger than A4… I’ve played around with a few different apps, and this was the best I could come up with –

    https://www.mediafire.com/file/1pn7q69cnn9nipl/June_1966-10-08_%2528Wobbly%2529.cbz/file

It’s readable but there’s a lot of wavy stuff in there… I might try with taking staples out but even then the paper seems hard to flatten. I’m considering trying a glass panel but worried that will bounce light back off. Any suggestions? I have a handful of School Friends not already on the site that I’d like to scan before they disintegrate…

Thanks! =) I’ve been playing around with boards and clips, the biggest challenge is some of the issues are in dreadful condition. I did look at an A3 scanner but honestly it would just cost far too much to scan a few comics =/

I’d love an A3 printer but I haven’t the room for one also don’t think the good lady would be impressed.

Ha! I looked at one, expecting to pay 2x the price of an A4 one, only to find out it was more like 4-5x; even second-hand are way out of my range. My plan is to hold onto the issues and check nearby libraries but beyond that phone seems to be the way to go… vFlat seems to be pretty good so far, biggest problem is the condition of the issues and my own shaky hands!

    Knockout Fun Book 1954-

    https://www.mediafire.com/file/i0udhpcjfunb7vb/Knockout+Annual+1954.cbz/file

Like most of the KO annuals it’s ropey, decent Dick Turpin and a Frank Richards Bunter but also a Sexton Blake that looks like it was drawn in 1902, a lousy pirate cartoon that goes on for about 600 pages and lots and lots of text stories.
