Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

I just wanted to say thank you to all who have contributed to this wonderful place! As a Brit-kid born in the ’70s, I read comics voraciously growing up, starting with the usual suspects (Beano, Dandy, Beezer, Topper, Buster, etc.) and graduating to 2000 A.D. and others as I got older. I still remember the anticipation each week, waiting for the letter box to flap as the local postie delivered my new offerings, poring over them and chuckling or being thrilled before and after school. Some fond memories of summer and autumn Sundays wandering about the local car boot sales, picking up those wonderful tome-like annuals from years before I was born, or the Christmasses and birthdays where a wrapped rectangular block from my grandma could only mean a newer annual to enjoy over the hols. Delightful days.

By the time I left the U.K. in my twenties to live abroad, I had quite a collection, which sadly was too large to travel with me and had to be sold off. Still, it made me happy to think there’d be other little ones out there inheriting them and being as entertained I had been.

So this site has been a treasure-trove of memories, reminding me of just how significant a part of my childhood these were. Thank you all very much.

You are welcome, i believe i can speak for all scanners and original uploaders also that this is one of the main reasons they are doing all this scanning and uploading.

Hi all again, I’m looking for a War/Battle/? Picture Library for a long time, the story of a happy-go-lucky(?) soldier, accidentally rising through the rank and stumble fortunately through his tour of duties. What a happy story..

Here’s a download link to unedited scans of five pages of Boys’ World (27 June 1964) that are incorrect in the version currently available on the site:

This also includes my attempt at knitting together the ‘Wrath of the Gods’ centrespread (though smaller than the 600dpi scans because my picture editing software couldn’t cope with files that large!)

This link should remain live for another week.

    Hello to all.
I am afraid i have some bad news, well not real bad, but for most of my blogs it will be not good. All good things comes to an end at sometime and this is the time the good things for most of my blogs will end as of now.
I will stop updating en repairing links and all that is necessary for those blogs. Not that i don’t like it anymore, but like i said in earlier comments i found other things to enjoy and focus on and that uses up a great part of my time. Real life activities and some online. And unfortunately there are only 24 hours in 1 day. I will only focus on and maintaining the British Comics Blog and the Newspaper Blog. All other blogs will still be here and all things can be downloaded as long as the links are alive. If there is something urgent or you have questions you still can make a comment, i will be observing the blogs for eventualities.

It is brilliant news you are sticking with the British Comics (my favs). It is only fair you stop the majority of the rest. You do need a life after all but thanks for at least keeping them going. I don’t post much but appreciate all your hard work and effort
