Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

You are welcome, i am a big fan of the old Thunderbirds myself also, still can watch the old episodes for hours. I don’t like the newly made episodes that much.

I know what you mean. I hope to find their comic strip adventures in the missing funday times issues one day. I grew up with the 90’s comics which featured a lot of the 90’s fleetway comic strips. They are so hard to come by unless I shell out on a bulk of back issues.

Does anybody know anything about Schoolgirls’ Adventure Library from Micron? Number 23 is on this site so the series exists but there is no entry for it on GCD and I can’t find any info elsewhere.
LikeLike
If you do find out, please let us know here, and I’ll add the data to the GCD. I had never heard of the title, so very curious what the group might find.

And of course you are not referring to Amalgamated/Fleetway/IPC’s Schoolgirls’ Picture Library?

Totally separate publication. Looking at what is on GCD I am thinking 1964 or 65 but can’t be sure.I keep track of downloads using my.comics.org so when something isn’t there it can be most frustrating.

Ramon, Schoolgirls’ Adventure Library is, as cjkerry says, a Micron series. There were a lot of Micron publications in various genres, mostly if not all pocket libraries. Nowadays they’re all but forgotten, although they do turn up on ebay uk. As for SAL, it’s actually a G.M. Smith Publishing Co. Ltd publication. Published at Micron House, Mitcham, Surrey, and has the Micron name on the shield on the cover.
Micron and it’s associated companies is a very confusing subject.
I tried again to upload some info to GCD but it proved too confusing and time consuming. If you want any further info. let me know and I’ll provide what I can by email. By the way, the British guide doesn’t list SAL, although it does list other Micron or associated companies titles.

A while ago I picked up this in a bunch of other girls’ picture libraries. I didn’t realise at the time that it was No. 1 😀 It’s in great condition too.
The Schoolgirls’ Adventure Library was published from autumn 1963 by Micron Publishing (GM Smith Publishing, Micron House, Mitcham, Surrey) and ran for at least 60 issues according to info I’ve found on the web.
The cover logo is almost indentical to The Schoolgirls’ Picture Library which had been published by Fleetway for several years. I have some of these too and didn’t notice at first that they weren’t the same publisher/title. On my issue of SPL #41, “Ice Show Mystery”, the little girl who owned it has helpfully written her name and “Christmas Day 1958” 🙂

Here is an article on Micron (in pdf) from the Book Palace “Illustrators” magazine. Schoolgirls’ library only gets a fleeting mention, but you may find it interesting as info on Micron is so scarce:

Tried again, it is only these two issues within eagle08.rar (1st serie v03 40 and Eagle 1st serie v03 50) that have the corrupted file issue. The rest within the file open and have no issues.

Ok, thanks, i will make a new link for this rar today. So within a few hours it must be cleared, i will name it 08a so you know it’s the new link.
P.S. It might be more problematic as i thought, they seem to be corrupt with me also on second thought, i have to find 2 new ones or maybe someone else can help us with these 2 issues. I will let you know when i made a new link for these issues.

Tks again for the great efforts to the team as always. Unfortunately for cmd12.rar I believe 3194 was accidentaly replaced by 3199, as a double post
LikeLike
Belay that. Cmd2 has both 3199 and 3194. Cmd12 should have what issues then.
LikeLike
My mistake, i found out with updating that there were a few double issues from Commando 3193 and 3194 and another one i believe, so there should be some rar’s that has an issue that is also in another rar. But there are no missing issues just some doubles.

When dealing with a comic numbered in the thousands it was bound to happen sooner or later.
