Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

      Thanks for the links.
I use ftp to get on libgen that works fine with me most of the time. I found a few Thunderbird Paperbacks also there, good enough for me for this site, although it’s not a comic is has some nice illustrations.

That Space Picture Library Holiday Special for 1981 wasn’t listed on Comic GCD though four previous issues were.

I just bough 71 issues from the Dutch version of the Eagle from the early 60’s for 25 euro. They look in good shape but they have to be send to me for a better opinion. It seems a bargon to me so they made me buy it for that price.

Hello Boutje! Please forgive me for this post very personal and apparently sad. I wil thank you again and again for your comics blogs.
Look, some a month ago, under very tragic circumstances i have lost everything: my house, my material possidences, my car, my bicycle, the paperworks of my job, my everytinghs. Only lasted the clothes i was wearing and the pocket money with the documents. Ah, and a pair of glass and the cellular phone. But i retained my health, my personal liberty and my beloved wife. Even somebody life was lost. I was a little upset, then step after step i began rebuilding my life. All my computer devices was lost with thousands of comics. And comics and book of paper, actually. But when i began to rebuild i began to download the treasures you put in your blogs. The Donald Duck of Gold Key, and the Bugs Bunny and the Uncle Scrooge, Tom and Jerry. Then in the future i will download the War Dc Comics, Strange Adventures and Mystery in Space. And Sgt. Fury. And Charley’s War. Looking at those comics i will be able to be the same person i was before. Reading the stories i like so much i mantained my mental capacity. This was good for me. This is the very sense of your blogs. They preserve for everybody masterworks that can give happines again and again.

So Boutje thank You again and keep the good work!

I don’t know if it’s of any interest to you, but the British adult magazine Mayfair had a regular comic strip called “Carrie” – like a pin-up girl kind of thing.

My friend had a huge stack of Mayfairs that his dad had cleared out, and I always looked for the Carrie strip. I may have even cut them out and put them together into a book, I can’t remember.

I think “Carrie” was re-published all around the world under different names. A bit of info can be found here:
