Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

Lee, once again thanks for tidying up these scans. Much appreciated. From memory I think issue 10 is missing one page of the Kelpie story.(is the artist the same as the one who drew Wrath Of The Gods in Boys World – looks very similar).
I will hold back on further issues until later in the month.

Rob, do you happen to have issues 5 & 14 of wham! as they are the only two missing from the archive and would complete the first run of 20 issues of Wham!
Also, do you happen to have complete copies of issues 2 & 3 as the ones in the archive are missing a couple of pages each
Issue #002 is missing page 10 and either page 16 or 17 (can’t tell which as the pages aren’t numbered)
And issue #003 is missing pages 17 &18 – any help would be greatly appreciated by all the fans of Wham!
Thanks again for all your great work scanning those early issues, as I said earlier you have made a lot of readers of British comics very happy!

That was more than a day Lee but having checked my scans of 002 and 003 they are also missing page(s).
On the positive side i should be posting Wham 021-027 which are complete but would benefit from your fine tuning. That completes my contribution for 1964
Next up I will start work on the 1965 issues that i have to add to the site.

Yes, Kelpie the Boy Wizard and Wrath of the Gods were both illustrated by John M. Burns (taking over the latter from original artist Ron Embleton). Burns is still working today – his series The Order is appearing in current progs of 2000AD.

Hi Bosco. I had the same problem. try the following:
PROCESS>
1. Copy to a New Folder – Call it “Tester”
2. AS Downloaded use 7-Zip to “Extract Files Here”
3. A New File with a lot of individual .jpeg files will be created – leave as is.
4. Use 7-Zip on that file to {Add to “ ….same name…”.zip} ( selection 4 in 7 zip)
5. A “…same name…”.Zip will be created
6. Change .zip to .cbr
7. You will be able to read this
8. Copy these .cbr files to your required directory.
You can use original folder without using a new Tester folder. But this creates a lot of additional files which you will need to clean to stop getting confused!

If you are creating a comic book file from a zip file it should be named cbz rather than cbr. However, most comic book readers will still work with a misnamed file, so it’s not a big deal.
LikeLike
With WinRAR indeed, zip is cbz and rar is cbr, for other programs i don’t know. Best is to try the other when one is not working, in many cases the comicreader for some reason can read them al of a sudden. Sometimes the files inside a comic are not only jpg but sometimes jpeg, png, bmp, or even gif, and not all comicreaders react the same on all these formats.
