Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

I wanted to put this here so it doesn’t get lost in past postings. Hope that’s okay.
Regarding cbrs that can’t be opened, I’ve had the same problem with the last few updates and here’s what works for me. After downloading and unraring an archive, I change each magazine file extension from cbr to rar, then unrar that file. Then I zip that file, change the extension to cbz, and hey, presto! (I’m on a Mac, btw.)
Therefore, it doesn’t seem to be a problem with the jpeg vs jpg. Unless boutje is reconstructing the files people contribute (and I’m guessing he’s not), then there’s something funky about the way the cbrs are being created.
So I went back to the 16 Mar 2021 update, and the cbrs I got there worked just as expected. Unless I miss my guess, some contributors have started using new or beta software to create their cbrs that old reading software can’t cope with. In theory, then, if you use your current software to unrar and then re-rar to cbr or zip to cbz, you should be okay.
Somebody should try this and let us know whether it works.

Thank you for that, I’ve had the Buster updates that give an error, so I’m missing out on one of my favourite comics

Thanks that should be very useful for some users. You are right i don’t change anything but the name for archive reasons. Sometimes readers are using outdated software to extract and/or read the comics also, that can cause problems also if you don’t update those for a long time, and use another comicreader when the software don’t works, not all comics can be read with the same reader. And Mac or Windows does make some differences also.

Pretty sure these are original 1970s. I can put up one for you to look at before I spend time uploading the collection. They are in order according to Wikipedia

Thank you very much, that is a good idea, usually the publishingdates are on one of the 1st pages, but then again, sometimes it’s on the back. You can send 1 if you want and i will look at it thoroughly.

Thanks, it looks to me that it’s the original because the reprints have mainly b/w drawings if i am correct.

I’m convinced these are the original run. According to Wikipedia ” Series A to D were reprinted in single novel form, with reduced quantity black and white images, but with expanded text. ”
I don’t have the novels that’s why I sure these are the original

Hi boutje, for completeness, I have pulled together a corrected version of Captain Britain V1 # 17 which had the colour pages printed in the wrong order and also included some pages that would have been from #18.
When # 18 was printed the following week it included these corrected pages as a pull out to replace the colour pages in #17.

Personally, I like to see the scans as originally printed so I’m not suggesting this should replace the Captain Britain V1 # 17 on your page but could be added as a corrected story version in the Captain Britain folder.

Sorry folks, only found out when scanning that the centre spread has been removed, taking half of Hammersmith FC with it. Had a look on eBay but no copies there. Long shot, but if anyone has this issue and can scan the rest of HFC and the centre spread please get in touch. Hopefully the rest of 1992 is complete.

TV21 97 (Jul 31 1971) is missing Page 21, and TV 21 (Aug 7 1971) is missing Pages 23 and 24. (Because of the way they were printed, the number of pages in each issue must be a multiple of 4.) Any chance of a C2C upgrade on these? Thanks!
