Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

I like to find out what can be wrong with some files from the latest update because some people got errors. If you have difficulties please let me know which files gives the errors and what errors they are as much specific as you can, also if you don’t encounter problems let me know also, so i can see if i can find a pattern. I can see most files are downloaded more than 100 times so i figure that not many people had problems or they just don’t let me know.

The files I had a problem with are: How and Why, Knockout, Oink!, Tell me Why and Vulcan. They will download, but not open. The same thing happened a few months ago with Beatles Monthly. I tried it again today and still wouldn’t work.

Thanks, can you recall what the errors were ? What you used to open and/or read them. Did you read what Tom commented on the errors and my reply ?

I use something called ‘StuffIt Destinations’. I drop the rar file onto it and it separates everything into the individual cbr files, but with these, I just get the message ‘The structure of the archive is damaged’

I am afraid i can’t help you with that, i only use Winrar and don’t have any experience with Stuffit. I can unpack these files without problems. Perhaps something went wrong with downloading, that happens sometimes.

I know that Googledrive messages when the file is bigger than 100mb that it can not be scanned, but you can still download the file, that is no problem, just push the downloadbutton.

Re errors on downloads, I am getting quite a few lately. Just updated to a new version of Ubuntu Linux. So thought it was the problem. two errors show up, the first is archive broken, the 2nd error uncompresses the file as individual folders and jpgs. Found that if I rename the .rar file to .zip everything runs normal for both error types. Don’t know if it is helpful to anyone.

Thanks, that should be useful. That can be a problem indeed, when someone renames extensions, zip must be renamed to cbz and rar to cbr or else you are likely to get errors when reading with some readers.

Here are two later Wham issues that I don’t think anyone has yet.

Still trying to sort out merging the early centre page pdfs of Eagle Eye into one pdf and then will start adding those. Someone tried to tell me how to do it by opening a document and pasting both pdfs into it but opening a document in what app ?.

I can upload the issues with separate pdfs foe Eagle Eye in the interim if that helps.

Finally did The Beezer/Topper group get off the ground ?. I have quite a few from the late 50’s early 60s.

    Keep cool everyone.
