Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

  1. Boutje, you were asking about Paint Shop Pro version 9. You can get a free copy here:

    http://www.oldversion.com/windows/paint-shop-pro-9-0

If you recently bought a new computer, chances are you got palmed off with a new operating system too. You perhaps had Paint Shop Pro 9 running fine on Vista or on Windows 7. Now you’ve found it won’t run on Windows 10.

Probably the only way to get Paint Shop Pro running normally on Windows 10 is to get a more recent version than Paint Shop Pro 9. You could try Paint Shop Pro 11 (for free), which is reported to work on Windows 8, so might work on Windows 10 –

Which titles are you referring to ? Marvel titles ? If so, i believe they are on the right place because Marvel UK is an important part of the British Comics past also.

Hi Boutje, yes I do refer to Marvel UK, and the likes, because they have American content & characters from American background.
As a child of the fifties I regard these as alien to my understanding of a British Comic.
Having said that, this is your site, and what you have in it and where is your choice. I do very much appreciate, and I am very greatful for the chance to relive my Decade. There is choice for everyone, and different Memories for Everyone.
        Kind Regards

        Hi Boutje.
There is one exception of Marvel UK – “Doctor Who”. I believe is of British origin.
        Kind Regards

There’s a lot more British originated material to Marvel UK than just Doctor Who. If we’re talking licensed titles you can add Blake’s 7 and Worzel Gummidge for a start, then there are comics like It’s Wicked and Bog Paper that wouldn’t have looked out of place in IPC or DC Thomson’s stable of titles. And those are only a tiny handful of examples – Marvel UK produced a lot of original material alongside the reprints of US stuff.

I was born in 1971 and grew up at the tail end of the britsh comic industry. My first memory of comics was the Marvel Uk titles. i can remember reading Spider-man weekly, Hulk Weekly, Captain Britain, Mighty World of Marvel, Forces in combat, Titans, Savage Action. I struggled with reading as a young child and my parents brought me comics to help with this issue. The Marvel heroes where inspiring to me as a young age as they stood up to the bullies of the world. I then moved on to IPC comics, Speed, Tiger, Battle, Eagle , Buster, Oink, 2000ad, Roy of the Rovers. Dc Thomson, Buddy, Warlord, Victor, Champ, Nutty, Topper. All these comics for varying reasons influenced me growing up both parties playing a part in my morals growing up. If not for the content of these comics i might of been a different person to the one i am today. British or American, they both hold fund memories for me and belong on this wonderful site.
