Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

I’ve made a page with date and numbering guides, you can find it in the Information widget.

That is good.
Out of 64 Guides, 30 of them are okay without a problem.
Some I cannot open, that end with ods , instead of xls, I try to modify file extension, still not open, I will search to see which software opens ods and let you know.
There were also three or four guides that are not correct in the dates, I get back to you later which ones.
Overall it is a good idea to have guides to assist in finding comics.

Hi
Some of your latest whoopee!, Whizzer & chips & Buster CBR files don’t open on my pc. I have several comic book readers on my pc, even the ones recommended by your site intro. None of the apps will open them. I realise your not responsible but i wanted to know if anybody else was experiencing the same problem.

When you try to open to extract, it will give you option to ignore or ignore all, with izip app.
If select ignore all, it will extract folder, after open folder and remove file Ds. Store, then make anew zip file and it be okay again.

Most of the time i use CDisplayEx or Comicrack, and they are always good to use for reading the comics on the blog. I am talking about the comics that are on the downloadpages, not in the comments, because they have to be adjusted sometimes to read them with a comicreader on a desktop.

I’ve had similar problems with files. As .CBR and .CBZ files are simply .RAR and .ZIP files renamed – I just change their names to .RAR, extract all the files with the WINRAR program, re-archive them back into .RARs and then change the name back to .CBR.

Is it ok if i ad these 2 Cliffhanger pages into your scan ? Your scan is so much better quality, it’s a shame to replace that scan completely with this one, let alone the work you put into it.

Yeah of course it is, only whish I’d seen it would have saved me buying that issue.

Thanks, that’s true, but then we wouldn’t have that good quality scan as we now have.

I have noticed that from the Oct 1992 pack on your Buster page the issues dated 17-10-1992, 24-10-1992 and 31-10-1992 all have 30 pages. However, these issues are also on Uk Print Archive and they all have 32 pages.
Also, I recently discovered on UK Print Archive 22 issues from 1980-1985 and another 4 issues from 1990 which are missing from your Buster page. I didn’t provide links to these issues because I assumed that you were already aware of these issues on UK Print Archive and planning to include them in your next update. Apologies if I got that wrong. I can still provide the links if you need them.

Thanks, yes i am aware of those and will download these today so i can use them also when i reorganize the Buster pages and offcourse for the next update.
