Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

  1. I’m going to offer a full rundown on doing a physical preservation/restoration of a comic.

This is a method recommended some years ago by Harry Mendryk, a professional artist who was employed by Mavel Comics and DC Comics, in America, to restore their golden age comics for publication in book format –

Harry was moderator of the Yahoo Group ‘Digitizing Comics‘, which no longer exists as the Yahoo groups have all been discontinued.

Thanks, that will be very useful for those that scan, i’m not a scanner myself, that would take me too much time in between maintaining my blogs.

I have lost count how many Buster Comics it has been so far, that are new to the blog, but I estimate from various ones who upload them, must be somewhere around 400 to 500.

Anyway, I guess when people start downloading them, will say something like this :

You BUSTER my guts to download this lot.

With so many cbr and cbz files on your pc or external hard drive, it’s so easy to allow the organisation of your comic files to become somewhat messy. There is a free program available that will organise your files and allow you to batch rename, replace and edit their names. It’s a very useful and light program. It is called File Name Replacer and it’s available free through the Microsoft store.

I noticed the date and numbering guide is slightly wrong, it will need correcting in the future

Anyway, I am also preparing about 20 new date and numbering guides too, including whizzer and chips and whoopee, as they are slightly wrong too.

When all the guides are ready, I will let you know too.

I noticed what you said on how the 1 day became missing,

I think I know what happened.

The last 1993 issue in December inside mentions next issue will be January 8 1994, so there was a week gap in between where there was no issue published, this is often happens with some comics, due to Christmas and new year holidays , they sometimes make a bumper issue, such as Buster December 25th 1993, instead of the usual 32 pages, it was 48 pages for that issue.

As regards the missing day of change of date, the date changed on issue 1723 [1994-01-21] instead of being [1994-01-22] if it continued in the correct sequence from issue 1722 [1994-01-15] .

I reckon it was either due to human error, or it may be that it was decided to change the date on purpose to confuse people or for some other reason, that I gave no idea about.

However, if you look at all the cover dates after issue 1723, the sequence continues to follow on after that date.

So one has to accept the correct date now is from issue 1723 being different onwards for the date and numbering guide, as being now correct.

I do not know what else to say.

    Ha ha.

Do you now have all three batches of buster comics now, so I can make space once more, for the future whizzer & Chips batches to upload, I have really a lot again to work through.

The list above is the first batch for now.

I will let you know more about other Whizzer & Chips in a list once more, after I get that list ready.
