Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

do you have any commandos within British Comics website ? or other or other places to download them ?

No i am sorry, all DC Thomson related material had to be removed.

– download files (.pdf .cbr … etc) are permanent , so better that the comics that age.
– Hard to find the “pre 4600” commando download files or buy download commandos online

boutje777, Tiger 1955-06-11 is damaged. Pages 19 and 20 (the back page) are basically non-existent. There is only a small corner of each page.
I won a copy of that issue of Tiger on eBay today. Pages 19 and 20 are intact on the copy I won. So hopefully I will have an upgrade available for you in the next week or so.

I’ve just bought a bunch of 1986 Buster from Ebay. I don’t have a brilliant scanner but I’ll try using my SLR to photograph each page. Hopefully that will provide good quality results.

Nice one, I’ve a decent scanner but the comics are just slightly over A4 size so I’m have to scan each page in 2 sections and the pasting them together so it’s a slow job doing each comic.

Hi boutje, here’s issue No 23 of POW! 24th June 1967. It’s in PDF format as I tried the CBR convertors that you told me about but they don’t work on my Apple computer and I’ve not been able to find one that does. http://www.mediafire.com/file/ntzmxowd8h15ymj/POW!+No+23+24th+June+1967.pdf/file

I discovered by accident using app unarchiver on ipad , that uf you go to your file of say pdf, you select modify file extension, delete the extension pdf, then rename it cbr, then it automatically works.

Here is that .PDF of POW! (#23 – 24th June 1967) compressed to 16Mb (if anybody wants a smaller file size with only minimal loss of viewing quality)

and here is the same file converted to .CBZ = https://lilfile.com/NLQ5P3

Try a Google search on ‘cbr converter apple’ and work your way through the options. One of them has to work!

To convert from pdf to cbr all you need to do is modify file extension, at the end where it says pdf, you delete the three letters carefully, not all the name of file, then put the three letters cbr in its place. it is that simple.
I found this work by accident.
Most things find out by accident.
But if you have unarchiver zip app, it will work.
It works on my ipad

Thanks, that is convenient, it works indeed with both CdisplayEx and Comicrack. And it seems to me the quality is still the same.

Another way is to associate cbr/cbz files with whatever software you use to read comics. Not sure how to do that in non-Windows operating systems, but in Winodws and Android you just right click the file and and associate it with the program you want to use.

For apple computers and ipad, the best one to read comic files I found on the app store is called Comic Flow

I’ve been looking through Ebay (as you do), and I noticed a lot of Buster up for grabs and many of them are not in this archive. Is anyone here bidding on any of them? I’m tempted to bid on a couple but I don’t want to be bidding against any one here as we all want them for the same reason!
