Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

according to comics uk website
it mentions that Whoopee! comic was not published due to industrial action.
This following information was given:
On November 5th, 1983 Whoopee celebrated issue no. 500, whereas it was actually the magazine 504th week. I know the dates of June 21st and June 28th 1980 were a combined issue (two in one). This still leaves three weeks when the comic was not published. I remember reading somewhere that there was no Whoopee on December 28th, 1974, January 4th, 1975 and January 11th, 1974.

as I was looking through your whoopee comics, I made a check with my whoopee date and numbering guide, which ones I have that are not yet on your blog.
I made note of them on paper for now, found I have 56 Whoopee! comics that you do not have.
As they are on a Flash Stick, I have a problem to upload at the moment.
First, I need to buy a new laptop, as my previous one no longer works.
Do you know how to transfer from flash stick to an ipad or what device that is compatible to connect flash stick to ipad?
When I get things sorted out, I will let you know more about these 56 Whoopee comics.
Be patient with me until then.
I am sure I have a lot more comics that you need too on your blog with the Archie comics, I have a lot that you have missing there to, possibly about 400 comics, and other titles in the archie series.
Again all on flash sticks.
Get back to you later about that.

Thanks for the offers. Unfortunately i don’t have any knowledge about Ipad’s, perhaps someone else can help you with that question. Offcourse i will be patient with you, as long as i have those Whoopee’s by tomorrow. Keep in mind that for the Archie comic’s i only place comics published before 1990.

I cannot give you the whoopee comics by tomorrow.
First I need to buy a laptop and get them ready for you.
when they ready I will let you know.
as regards the archie comics I know they have to be before 1990.
I read it on your blog already.
Don’t you mean up to 2000.

All you need is a connecting lead which you can get from Amazon for around £10. I don’t have an ipad but i have a Samsung Android tablet and I connect that to a USB stick with a similar lead . Its 2.5cm lond and the files transfer easily.

Thanks, I will look into that.
I hope it will work with ipad connecting lead.

Downloading Files
Thought it might be worth posting this comment to help people who comment on not being able to download files, but boutje then has no issues.
Storage is expensive, so many sites use two types of storage – online and secondary. Online is available immediately, but expensive. Secondary is a lot cheaper, but takes time to load up.
So basically if a file is currently in online storage – you get it straight away. But if it’s in secondary, it may take a couple of minutes to load it up. But once loaded, it sticks around for a while.
This is usually the reason why people think the links are not working – they see the long delay as it not working, but when boutje checks it, it’s now loaded up and is fine.
So if a link seems to not work – simply wait a couple of minutes and try again.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for explaining that, i like to ad that sometimes also the storagesites can have some temporary problems with the server, i have the same problems with uploading. Sometimes i have to try a 2nd or even a 3th time and sometimes i have to try it the next day again. I can understand that everyone like to download everything they find as fast as possible but sometimes you have to be a little patient. When there really is a problem, content deleted for example, i always try to repair the links asap.

UPDATE 09-02-2021
Doctor Who 43 Target Books.
Again not a comic but nevertheless good reading material.
I am browsing through some dark corners of my desktop and drives so it’s possible that in the next weeks i will find some more noncomic related material from which i find is suitable to fit into this blog somehow, better than let it rest in those dark corners of oblivion.

The first issue launched Steve Yowell’s career and had the support of the rather talented animator Vincent James. Hi Boutje, Many, Many thanks for such devotion to a Very Brilliant site.
My Main Comic from my childhood is the ‘Eagle’.
Sometime back you mentioned a Dutch comic ‘Arend’ which after searching my Old Mind, and looking back in time. Brought me to realising that this is a reprint of the British Eagle and Swift comic stories. Main one being ‘Daan Durf/Dan Dare.
I have managed to obtain (in electronic form – cbr) all the issues that were printed, 570 in all, from 1st issue dated 8th Oct 1955 to 24th Sep 1966.
I am now quetely going over them and making comparisons. Sadly I do not understand the Dutch language, Very remiss of Me !!!
Could I make a request, to all the very good downloaders of the Eagle; If it is possible to Upgrade Volumes 4 and 5, as I find most of these ‘Out of Shape’ and ‘Out of Focus’
Thank You All for the Much Appreciated Downloads, such a Brilliant Site.
Making this Oldster Very, Very, Happy.
Kind Regards to All
