Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

I went through all the Valiant issues to check them for missing and damaged pages (similar to Jacko more than 2 years ago). I published the list on the Valiant page, so it will be easy to find. Hopefully this will help to get them truly complete. If you are able to assist, if only by scanning one or a few pages, thanks in advance for making them available!

    Happy holidays for everybody!

I wasn’t sure that anybody was still looking at my list from 2 years ago. Thanks for your updated list. It’s nice to know there are others out there like me obsessed about having a complete (in every way) run of Valiant.

I wouldn’t have known it existed, since it was published on the home-page. But luckily, there was a reference to it on the Valiant page, so I went back and looked for it around the same date. That’s why I put it on the Valiant page now, where it will remain visible.

Going through the Valiants, I corrected several issues (rotations, two-page spreads, duplicate pages, etc.). Check out the Valiant page for a link.

The upgrades for Cheeky weekly, is the colour and fixes such as take away marks and dots that should not be there, generally cleaning the pages.

The Fix for the Special, is generally similar, but mainly the title of the special.

There has been various types of Buster Specials.

FIRST, we have the Original by the TITLE of BUSTER HOLIDAY FUN SPECIAL or (HFS) for short. These had run from 1969-1978.

SECOND, we have also with a different TITLE of BUSTER AND MONSTER FUN SPECIAL or (MFS) for short. These had run from 1977-1995.

THIRD, we have the TITLE of BUSTER HOLIDAY SPECIAL or (HS) for short. These had run from 1979-1998.

Also, there was a BUSTER WINTER SPECIAL or (WS) for short. This was in 1988.

In addition, there were also various BUSTER PUZZLE BOOK SPECIALS or (PS) for short. Further clarification of how many to find out yet.

        I hope this information helps.

In your section of various, under Buster, you have put the various specials together, as the TITLE of BUSTER HOLIDAY SPECIAL.

It needs to be separated or sorted out with the correct titles, I was only trying to help you to see that.

If you like for me to FIX these for you, I be happy to resend them later with their correct TITLES.

        If not I understand.

The main reason of interest, for the correction, is in order for you to find the other missing ones in your collection, as there are lots more.

The years of various TITLES, could give you the false impression that you have them all .

Thanks, they are listed so because the covers say Holiday Special, with the exception of 1984 which says Summer Special, and some are Holiday Fun Specials or even Buster Monster Fun Holiday Specials, but i list the regular issues also as Buster, and not as Buster and Monster Fun, if someone wants to rename them it’s offcourse up to them and easy to do so. If you have a list of missing specials please share it so i can see what’s really missing.
