Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.

A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.

British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.dandare

There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

      Thanks for letting me know.
Can you specify a few files that are not available, because i can’t seem to find any, sometimes it’s just a temporary error from the downloadsite, and when you try it the next day it’s working again, so i can see if i can correct the problem or make new downloadlinks.

Just give it a few days, a few months ago there was the same problem and in a few days everything was back as usual. I only get a message “technical difficulties we are working on the problem” when i try to log in. When the problem still occurs at the end of the week i try to make new links for everything that is on Adrive the next weeks.

I would greatly appreciate help from any readers of this blog. I am trying to find the name of a comic strip (or comic book in which the series appears) about boys stranded on an island that I saw in one of the great british comic anthologies that I downloaded and cannot remember it.

I looked through Eagle, Hotspur, Hornet, Valiant, Tiger, Wizard, Speed, Action, Bullet and Battle Action with no luck. It IS NOT one of these: Fishboy, Boys on Terror Island, Desert Island Teacher, Coral Island. The comic strip I read would have been a series from one of the British comic books in the 1970s or 1980s.

There was one group of “good” boys vs a group of “bad” boys led by an arrogant bully on the island. The bully boy had set sail with two other boys when their boat or raft was overturned in rough seas and the bully boy selfishly ignored the other two boys. One of the boys rescued the other boy from drowning and then they were swept back to shore-this is what I remember from so far. I have tried Googling: comic uk boys stranded, boys on desert island uk comic, shipwreck boys uk comic, boys stranded island uk comic, boys lost at sea uk comic etc. and have had no luck.

If anybody knows the name of the UK comic in which this series appears please post your reply and thanks.

It’s almost summertime and the updating of my blogs will be at a very low level the coming months, there will be an occasional upload perhaps from a few comics and compilations. I will try to answer all comments still and repair what must be repaired. Near september i will proceed with the bigger updates, when i have them offcourse.
That goes for all of my blogs.

Nice site. I am trying to create a master list of all Western Comics ever from 1936 to the present and found a few of the English titles here. I also, for some reason, collect Christmas themed superhero comics. It was nice to know someone else appreciates those comics too. If I have some you did not list, I will send you the titles.

Unfortunately Photobucket has changed their policy, i have to take another plan for storage and linking the covers for most of my blogs, and that will cost me 400 a year. I have to think it over what to do best, in any case no Photobucketplan for me anymore. It leaves me 2 options, store all the covers somewhere else (possibly on the wordpress site itself as i did for the latest updates allready) and make new links for them, what will cost me many weeks to do so, or just forget about the covers and delete them all, leave just some pictures, but that will cost me a few weeks also. To be honest, i rather store them somewhere else and make new links for them, even if it will cost me 2 or 3 months to get them all done, the blogs are here to last much longer.

Definitely agree with you there. It is easier to keep track of the groupings when the covers are there. Just trying to find a silver lining in a dark cloud.

The expression Silver Lining in a Dark Cloud is also known as finding the Light at the end of a Tunnel and I discovered in Science the reality of it is that you will find a Black Hole at the end of the White Hole, after you Time Travel through it, as I have already did so through my Time Machine.

I’ve decided to give it a try to change all the coverlinks. I started with Action and that went pretty good. Most of the links i can replace with copy and paste in a wordprocessor all at once as long as the covers were on the same album on Photobucket, but as far as i remember most covers were placed in separate albums for every blog so i just have to replace the links with the specific albums with the new links. Never the less it will be alot of work.

Just let me know if you notice still a cover that is not showing up.
