Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

I need some opinions. I am thinking of changing the layout of the Compilations blog, mainly because of the lenght of the widgets with all those titles, and many are still in the pipeline. I like the homepage to be with only the logo’s from the titles in 1 widget and when you click on the logo you will come to the mainpage of that title with the links for the compilations. I made 1 example with Buzz, so please click on the Buzz logo in the Compilations blog to see what it will look like.

Yes Mr.Boutje,
The new buzz layout looks sleek and classy. The look of the fruitful blog with immense content like this may need trimming Now and then. Hope the trimmed comic tree will attract and treat more hearts as it always does.

I think what you have done with “Buzz” as the example works perfect. It would minimise the amount of scrolling to do.

I forgot to ask you, are you planning to add old ladybird books (such as key words, nature collection …) & old scholastic books (such as seeing stars, princesses don’t wear jeans …) in the future?

When i find some they will be in the Children Books Blog.

Hi Boutje,
Here are Lindy 1,2,4,& 5.Unfortunately 1,2 & 5 are incomplete – all missing the centre pages which I presume was a poster, and one page of Jane’s Jeannie story. The other page seems to have been jokes or adverts.
I’ll get back to the Jinty annuals over the next week.
All the best,
Shea

boutje777, CHiPs Annual 1983 is uploaded. Pages 45 and 46 are damaged. Someone at some point in the 38 years since it was originally printed, cut a picture out of page 45. It doesn’t affect the overall readability (apart from whatever the picture was, there are just some of the jokes on page 46 that are missing).

However I don’t want to create you a problem with torrent links.
But it is the first time I find all of those
A great encyclopedia of comics
I did not see any reference of those issues when treating exactly of what you greatly do…
Points to torrents but you get them quickly
12Go plus 7Go, the site is working…
As you look at posts before publishing them, I was a bit sending this to you as a personal contribution.
Do what you think in not publishing, I would be so ashamed in case of providing illegal links.

I am the bearer of Sad news for all UK comic fans, particularly Story papers, that Robert (Bob) Downing has passed away – also known as Bogoff and many other enames.
He died from throat cancer (Aug 1st) – a victim of Covid 19 accelerating his ailments. at age of 79 – he lived for comic digital world and his vast comic collection.
One of the great scanners who completed most of the UK big five storypapers, and DC Thomson publications such as Hotspur, Victor, and Hornet (still available on many sites). We all owe him a great debt.
Rest In peace Bob.

Hi boutje, As you know I am late to your site and am just now catching up on some of the posts. I noticed there are comments about DC Thomson publications not being on your site. Not to be nosy but is there a reason for that that you could share? Is there any place you could share that I could find downloads of the strips in Adventure if it is not a problem? As always great job on the job you do.

The reason is that i was forced to remove all DC Thomson related materials on the account that otherwise the blog would be closed.

Hi Boutje77 – Well done for such a great archive – brings back soo many memories.
Just wanted to ask – i remember there was fantasy strip called “Shadow Earth” or “shadowLand”. from what I remember it was in the same mould as Lord of the Rings. For the life of me I cannot remember if it came in its own magazine or was part of Eagle. Do any of you have any recollection of such a strip? I know that the first issue (or when it started), there was a map of the land where the strip was set in.
Thanks All,
James
