Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.
Thanks to the following sites for the information :

Lion scans needed 255 (5th Jan 1957) 427 (11th July 1960) 431 (9th July 1960) –
Anyone able to scan these and post – with ones I am doing would complete run for site

Sorry, I don’t have those issues of Lion.
Looking forward to filling in more of those gaps from 1952-1960.
However, from the 1950s issues of Lion I have discovered the following issues are incomplete and will also need upgrading.
Lion 093 [1953-11-28] Torn corner on back page [Captain Condor strip]
Lion 243 [1956-10-13] Page 23 missing
Lion 358 [1958-12-27] Page 11 and Page 12 [Page 12 is the first page of Captain Condor strip]
Lion 398 [1959-11-21] Page 27 and Page 28 missing.
I also have a list of damaged issues from the 1960s and 1970s if anyone is interested.

Just noticed that your link to the Buster Annuals and Specials has fallen out of its widget
LikeLike
Yes, as fas as i can remember i had to remove these also because there were characters belonging to artists that worked for DC Thomson inside the Annuals and Specials. The complete page was deleted.

Regarding Buster annuals and specials, I thought they would be IPC/Fleetway as the comics were?
LikeLike
Yes they are, but the request to remove them was instigated by artists that work/worked for DC Thomson and there was material from them also in those Annuals and Specials as far as i can recall. All those pages had a Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) notice instead of the materials.

I have just noticed that Eagle 2nd serie issue 361 [1989-02-18] is incomplete – page 14 has been scanned twice and, therefore, page 15 is missing. Hopefully, this issue can be replaced.

Great update. Didn’t expect it so soon after the last one.
A pleasant surprise was the 45 issues of Vulcan. I believe some of these are the early Scottish issues from the trial run which I was starting to think would never turn up. However, I have a question. The latest update includes issues of Vulcan from March 1975 to Feb 1978. If the last dated issue of Vulcan was 03-04-1976 after which it was cancelled and merged with Valiant, how are there now issues of Vulcan continuing beyond this date.

Continuing on from my earlier post today regarding Vulcan, Just to add to the mystery, there are now two completely different issues of Vulcan with the date 13-03-1976.

Hi Jacko
This website goes to explaining the extra issues but the mystery of the two 13-03-76 issues remains.

Thanks Shea.
Very interesting what Lew Stringer had to say. It seems that ‘Kobra’ was the German edition of Vulcan and ran for 3 years. I have also read on Comic Vine that Kobra came to an end after 167 issues in April 1978. We know that the last official edition of Vulcan in the UK was dated 03-04-1976. Therefore, why did the German company printing Kobra at the time continue to print Vulcan as well until 1978 and who were they printing it for because it clearly wasn’t for the UK. Overseas English speaking markets perhaps.

We certainly didn’t get Vulcan here in New Zealand. I was a teenager collecting British IPC comics at the time. I remember seeing Vulcan advertised and kept hounding my local newsagent to get it for me. Gordon and Gotch (the NZ distributor of most comics/magazines) replied that they weren’t bringing Vulcan into NZ

Those extra “Kobra’s/Vulcan’s” weres compiled from the original source material (the comics that printed the Spider, Archie, Adam Eterno, etc stories) and where needed were translated from the German by a comic collector/scanner here online. They never had an English publisher and in the case of some issues, they never actually existed (as I said, they were compiled from old comics as much of the original Vulcan was re-prints anyway).

Thanks Lee, i will make a note of that on the Vulcanpage allready before i add these issues on it so i can’t forget it.

it is indeed kind of confusing, there are Scottish editions, German editions and British editions, which could explain the different issues from the same date. I have to see if there is something that i can do to see what’s what.

Good point, thanks. I was just thinking that i better look for any libraries in the updates first and download these before i continue organizing. I will download these from that update and reorganize the page a little to add these. I will let you know if any libraries fail to download.

I’ve started downloading all Picture Libraries that i lost so i can continue organizing the Picture Library pages. So far i downloaded about 150 packs. I use Chrome and after i got to the download i let it rest for 10 seconds or so, and pushed the downloadbutton and most of the time the download started in 5 seconds, just once i had a serverproblem with 1 pack but after 3 tries that one worked also. So i guess it’s best to not push the downloadbutton to fast, just let it rest awhile, although that worked for me.

More Combat Picture Library news. I forgot to add the issues from an update and 1 Annual on the organized page. I’ve added them now, so this title must be up to date.
More Vulcan news. I’ve placed the issues from the latest update on the organized page from Vulcan with the remarks from Lee, to avoid more confusion.

Hi Boutje
Regarding the duplicate issue of Vulcan dated 13th March 1976, looking at the beginning and end of the stories included this appears to be the missing issue for 29th May 1976 with the wrong date on the cover.
