Welcome on this blog full of information about British comics and offcourse the comics.
A British comic is a periodical published in the United Kingdom that contains comic strips. It is generally referred to as a comic or a comic magazine, and historically as a comic paper.
British comics are usually comics anthologies which are typically aimed at children, and are published weekly, although some are also published on a fortnightly or monthly schedule. The top three longest-running comics in the world, The Dandy, The Beano, and Comic Cuts, are all British, although in modern times British comics have been largely superseded by American comic books and Japanese manga.
You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.
The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.
There are no DC Thomson related comics on the site, because i had to remove these.
You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.
Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.
I only place issues from last century,
so no issues newer than the year 1999.
I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.
This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.
If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

I have a rough breakdown of the dating for Starblazer. Basically i can list the issues by year. Do you need that information?

Here’s a new Buck Ryan. Please put it in the Buck Ryan complete stories. For completeness, other scattered stories which you already have, should be put here. I add the links. Besides, it would be better place the Buck Ryan complete stories in the Newspaper Comic Strips blog. Now we have 62 adventures (the complete run is 79). I think I can make another 5-6, really good. Thank you.

Thanks. If i understand you correctly, all the stories that are filed under your name in the compilationsblog will be better off in the newspaperblog ? And those from Paw Broon also ? So there will be only 1 page with all Buck Ryan stories.
LikeLike
Well, i speak for myself, i don’t know what Paw Broon thinks about this (anyway his material is already in The complete Buck Ryan). Yes, my stories are better off in the newspaper blog, so you can delete the page under my name. My aim is to have finally a page complete.

Ok, thanks, i will delete your Buck Ryan page on the Compilationsblog and place that page in the Newspaperblog today or tomorrow.

I was trying to organize the Buck Ryan stories, but it’s sometimes a bit confusing, some stories are compiled 2 times, 1 by Mulo Kibizer, another by Wiseman/Paw Broon, also some paulSB878, Crash Ryan, Franco Giacomini. Can you clarify which ones you want me to place on the Newspaperblog ?
LikeLike
Don’t care about the names. It’s sufficient put in the new blog my yesterday list together with the stories you already have in the Complete Buck Ryan. In that way we’ll have a compilation of the 62 stories so far available.
LikeLike
Thanks Mulo, so there are 10 stories that has to move to the Newspaperblog that you made, 48,55,58,60,62,63,69,71,72,74. Together with those on the Complete stories page. I have 62 stories all together indeed, but multiple issues from different compilers. There are 3 pages Buck Ryan in the Compilationsblog. Perhaps it’s best to make 1 page in the Newspaperblog with all complete Buck Ryan stories, with the double stories. That will make 62 complete stories, but perhaps more than 70 in total with the doubles. I hope Paw Broon reads this and will share his opinion.
LikeLike
Yes, you got it. 62 is the state of the art nowaday. By the way, Wiseman is another my nickname. Franco Giacomini is a friend of mine and he’ll agree. Anyway, i reckon it’s better avoid doubles.
LikeLike
The point with the doubles is that you have another way of compiling that Paw Broon has, so they look different. And some of them says a Wiseman/Paw Broon presentation, so that is the reason i am a bit confused what to place where. I will just do it my way this weekend and you and Paw Broon can let me know if you agree on what i did.

Hi Boutje, Mulo and I collaborated on a lot of the compilations but I did some solo, Mulo did a lot solo and some were done with the help of Franco and Leonardo. Mulos versions look different to mine, and occasionally I footered about with a little logo – PBW – but both are valid compilations. When we started out on this it was for CB+ but now it’s so good that you have them also. I can’t thank you enough for hosting them.

Not so good new from this side. This weekend there was a fire in a poweroutletstation in the neighborhood, because of it we had a powerfailure from 1 second to another. It happened while i was working on the computer. It lasted a few hours and i went sleeping and turned the computer on the other day, everything worked fine until i noticed that 2 out of 5 external hard drives weren’t visible anymore. I tried everything, even removed all drives and put them back 1 by 1, with different cables just to be sure it wasn’t a cableproblem. They are working, i can see the little lights flickering like they used to do. So i lost everything related to the Pulp and Old Magazines Blog, Family Comics Blog, Silver and Bronze Age Blog, the British Compilations Blog, Newspaper Blog and all British Picture Libraries. The weird thing is i had all these at 1 drive that i lost and the other one that i lost was a backup from this one, i never imagined i will loose both at the same time. For all comics and so on, it’s not a big problem, i have to download them all again, should take a while though. The really bad thing is that i was working on compilations for more than a half year, for instance all Tiger stories. That work is lost and i don’t think i will start pretty soon again, because that is very timeconsuming. That shows that you never can depend on your drives, next time i make a backup somewhere on the internet from things that are hard to recover, like working on compilations.
There may be a solution, because in the weekend someone with a little more knowledge about computertechnics will come and see what he can find out. Another solution may be that somewhere next month i will change my operating system to Windows10, perhaps after installing this OS it will see these drives again. Because of all this, i will postpone organizing the Picture Libraries, updating from the blogs will continue as normal, although it’s a little more difficult now to see what i have allready because i have to check with the blogs instead of my maps at the drives. Long story, but to keep it short
DON’T PANIC.

Something worth a try, power off the PC and remove the powerplug from the back. Remove all usb devices and leave it for 30-60mins. Power PC on and plug in drives one at a time.

Not sure if it means anything but I was able to download the first batch of Adventure Comics on the Silver and Bronze Age Blog. Haven’t tried anything else, but the I just got home and trying those uissues was the last thing I sis before leaving.

Hi, sad to hear that. I believe some professional data retriever should be able to retrieve all data from the discs if there is no physical damage, like burning out or some such thing.
In the worst case, if you publish the names of the files lost, some of the users like us should be able to share some of the files or put them back.

Thanks for all the support’. I’ve tried that Zackster, with no results. Thanks for all the offers. It’s not that everything is lost that is on the blogs, those are on fileservers. I’m capable to acces all i lost, it’s just a matter of time to download all that i had again. The only thing that is really lost is my work on the compilations that were not done completely.
That’s true KH, but when you see the prices they ask, you have to think twice.

Hi, I wish to say that some of the compilations pertaining to Fleetway’s, I might be able to share. But then, we need to have a complete list of the ones we lost.
Also if the cost of professional retrieval is reasonable, then, I believe, some among the user community may not mind contributing a few dollars each for the repair.

The compilations are not really lost, i have to download them from the fileservers to have them on 1 of my drives again, they can still be download from the blog. The only thing that is really lost are the compilations i was working on. Onfortunately that was quite a lot.

I posted a possible solution on the Scanarama site on Jan 22nd, under the heading “Essential date recovery tool”. The bare bones of the posting are below:
“There’s a program called ‘Partition find and Mount’ that finds the partition in the ‘faulty’ drive and mounts it in a virtual drive that you can copy the files from. I’ve just finished doing that and I’ve recovered the whole shebang.
There’s a youtube video (link below) that shows how easy it is, and I’ve also included it in the folder that contains the faster Pro version + serial numbers. VirusTotal shows only one false positive, by CMC AntiVirus, which can be ignored as it apparently shows the same result on everything.
[Tutorial] how to fix error “You need to format the disk in drive”
Partition Find and Mount folder

It certainly worked for me, and it may just work for you. It’s worth giving it a try.
