The Magnet was a United Kingdom weekly boys’ story paper published by Amalgamated Press. It ran from 1908 to 1940, publishing a total of 1683 issues. Each issue contained a long school story about the boys of Greyfriars School, a fictional public school located somewhere in Kent, and were written under the pen-name of Frank Richards. The vast majority of the stories were written by author Charles Hamilton, although substitute writers were sometimes used. The most famous Greyfriars character was Billy Bunter, of the Remove. Most issues of The Magnet also included a shorter serial story (a variety of detective, scouting, and adventure yarns were featured), and many issues also included a newspaper ostensibly produced by the characters themselves and called the Greyfriars Herald. These parts of the paper were not written by Charles Hamilton.
For complete information:
These issues are packed in a different way than usual because of the size of many issues and the quantity of the issues.
They are packed in years.
Normally the packs are individual, with these issues you have to download first all numbered packs into the same folder
and after that just start with unpacking the 1st one and the rest will be unpacked automatically.
I use a Windows based desktop and the packs are made with WinRAR, i don’t know how it works
with other systems and programs.

Hi, I just downloaded the sixth part of 1915. issue number 397 won’t open for me. The rest do but not that one. I got an error message stating that it couldn’t etermine the compressed stream type. This is somewhat annoying only because the story is Corker’s Canadian Cousin and I was going to read that one for a Canadian Reading Challenge I was thinking of doing this year. Thanks.
