This page is a sort of a remembrance for the best petfriend i ever had, Freaky the budgie.

Someone made this portrait for me

She died september 2020 and i buried her behind my house so she was still around a little and i could keep an eye at her and visit and bring flowers whenever i felt to.
Last week i noticed some people with heavy machinery were working nearby and i asked what they were doing, i understand that they would remove all bushes and trees all around, also at the place where i buried Freaky. So i hurried and dug her up, luckily the casket was still in good shape, i took her with me inside and made the decision that i would make a place for her at my balcony so i knew for 100% she would be in a good place. I just feel that i have to take care of her even after her dead, and this makes me feel alot better knowing she will be in peace at my balcony.

This is now her place.

For the 1st time on my hand.

Always on my keyboard when i needed it

On the monitor when i was working on compilations.

Hey, are you paying attention

With her boyfriend Zowie

Here some short movies

She is listening to Joy Division

She always came to me whenever i raise my arm

Her friend Zowie always took care of her

She liked the attention from me also

Hey, i am sure there was some seed left

Thanks to Charles Bull from which i got this beautiful poem.

Man I miss having budgies. Me and my Dad had them but had to get rid of them because my mum was allergic to them. We had a blue and white one same as yours called Joey, and a green and white one. I understand your love for them. Feel your pain. R.I.P

Thank you very much, the day after she died i bought a new budgie girlfriend for Zowie because he was so used to having another budgie around him, and from day 1 they got along together so well, they are now almost inseparatable they do everything together.

My condolences. Among other animals, we have 2 budgies. Many people probably have no understanding of what strong personalities and individuals they are, and how much they can bond with people.

Thank you, you are so right, some people don’t have a clue what they can mean for you, someone even said, what’s the problem, you can buy a new one for 20 euro, i felt pitty for that person.

Such a heartfelt tribute, I am sorry for your loss. Some people underestimate the pain a loss of a pet can bring.

Any animal as a ‘pet’ has meaning. I am a cat lover myself, and I know if my cat died or I had to part with her in any way, a piece of me would die too. Nobody should underestimate the connection we humans can have to other living things on this planet.

Thank you for sharing this post. I know it must have been hard to move her but I think she’s in a better and safe place now. I’ve had many pets over the years, 4x dogs, 4x rabbits, several hamsters, now I’ve got 2 cats. Never a day goes by where I don’t think of any one of them who are no longer with me. They behave more like humans and show the same kinds of emotions and feelings. I can understand your feelings. Hopefully having her close by gives you some solace when you need. Take care!

People who never had a pet wouldn’t understand this, but my childhood friend, a whippet/jack russel cross breed, is buried under a rasbery Bush behind my fathers house because the vet said she would be incinerated, I was to put her in skip behind his surgery. That wasn’t going to happen. The Tortoise joined her a few years later.

“If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty, then animals are a lot better off than many people.”; when asked if animals join their masters in the afterlife, he said “I believe it, with all my heart. I really do”. (Vet James Herriot, All Creatures Great and Small).

God created animals to be man’s companion in life, so why would He separate us in death ? You will be reunited one day in Paradise / Elysium / Happy Hunting Grounds, whatever the afterlife is called, you will be there with Freaky because of the work you did here, to bring so much joy to people 🙂

I’ve had many birds over my lifetime and budgies have been one of then I have now have 6 eclectus but nothing can prepare you for the loss of one , the ones I have lost have been rescues but there may have been issues before them getting to me and I hope that they were happy for the short time they were with us. I have something that you could have its a little poem and if I could send this to you no charge you could pop it with Freaky’s things.
