Hi there, 73-09-15 and 73-09-22 seem to be missing, not sure if this is just a gap that no one has uploaded or, as sometimes is the case there weren’t any issues printed over that period? Trying to track down first Dave Gibbons work for IPC (taking over from Joe Colquhoun on last episodes of Zarga) and I’ve narrowed it down to these two! Aaaaargh! I’ll just have to buy ’em!

Possibly no issues printed for various dates in 1974 –
CAN ANYONE VERIFY that no issues were published 19/1/74, 2/2/74, 16/2/74 (which is consistent with Valiant ‘non’ issues), 2,16 and 30 march 1974, and all of July 1974 (6, 13, 20, 27)?
also these dates in 1975 – 24/5 and 31/5

Regarding the missing issues from 1974/75 (and other years): Phil Shrimpton (of Phils-comics online auctions) has passed on this information to me:
“Hi Phil all the strike dates for buster are as follows in 1970 the last issue was 14/11/70 then there was a strike for 11 weeks until 6/2/71 so total issues 1970 was 44 and 1971 was 48.
In 1974 it went fortnightly from 12/1/74 to 6/4/74
July 74 no issues so 3/8/74 was issue after 29/6/74 so 1974 had 42 issues total.
1975 strike 2 weeks in may so 50 issues that year.
In 1980 there was a 4 week strike from 12/1/80 issue to 16/2/80 then another 4 week strike from 10/5/80 to 14/6/80 so 44 issues total in 1980.”
Hope this helps any collector’s (like me) who have been looking for issues that never existed!

Thanks for the comics. But unfortunately there is no more space on my hard drive. So I started to summarize the stories I like. It struck me that Buster 1973-06-09 is faulty. Can you put together series in an archive? Like Pete’s Pocket Army: Buster 1973-04-21 – Buster 1978-02-18? Several Gb’s can be saved with only having the series that you like.

Perhaps in the future i will make compilations from Buster stories, but that will not be very soon because that is very timeconsuming. You can take a look at the British compilationsblog, i believe there are some Busterstories there. What is the fault with that Buster, because i can’t find something wrong with it.

Funny. When compiling the story for me personally, I tried to unzip the file. The previous ones showed no errors. But with the file. After your answer, I looked at the file and could see the pictures. Is the file Buster 1973-06-09.cbr protected against unpacking? Read-only is displayed.

Buster 1973-06-16.cbr cannot be unpacked either. The other three in the archive already. Can someone send me other variations, or at least the pictures from the two “damaged” cbr. files from Pete’s Pocket Army?
Thanks. I looked at the other collections. First, from Mytek. Too bad that three adventures are missing. And that the colorful Vulcan pages weren’t used, or indeed. Unfortunately I don’t have the Vulcan comics to do it myself.
Also a shame that the Spanish adventure of Mytek, Mytek ‘El poderoso’ Extra # 8: “El retorno de Mytek” is not yet available as a file.

I solved the problem. Remove just the ending of the cbr file. This turns it into a zip file. Then unzip. And all the pictures are already visible in a NEW directory.

Good to read that you solved the problem, i could not find the reason, i use comicreaders like CDisplayEx and ComicRack and they gave no problem. Sometimes it helps for me changing the extension from cbr to cbz and or the other way around.

As I said, reading with qcomicbook or similar document viewers isn’t the problem. It isn’t possible to copy certain images from the archives Buster 1973-06-09 or Buster 1973-06-16.cbr without changing the formats.
LibreOffice wanted to repair the files. But failed in each case.
If such a case occurs again, I try your method: cbr to cbz.
When I’m done with Pete’s Pocket Army: Buster 1973-04-21 – Buster 1978-02-18, would you like to have the file for further processing?

Thanks for the offer, i will place it on the British Compilations Blog. Sometimes 1 encounter problems with some files when they have jpg’s and png’s inside, some readers give errors at png, and sometimes it may have to do with the compilation is packed with a Macsysytem and i have to remove some files to make it readable on my computer with Microsoft OS. There are many possibillities when you encounter errors. That’s why it’s sometimes hard to have a solution.
