There are no issues published between 14th Nov 1970 and 6th Feb 1971. It’s clear from the various story cliffhangers in the 14th November issue that the 6th February issue is the next installment.

I’d assume so. Britain had a lot of strikes in the 1970s, and a quick Google check confirms there was a major strike in December 1970 that led to power cuts. Whether it accounts for the whole period of the publication gap, I couldn’t say, but I have to think it is responsible for at least some of the break. When even hospitals were having their electricity supply rationed, supplying power to printing presses to produce comics would seem a minor concern. It’d be interesting to compare the publications of other IPC titles around the same time, and see if they have comparable breaks in publication.

And a quick check of the Valiant page confirms a similar gap period between November 1970 and February 1971.

But both Tiger and Whizzer & Chips continued publication during that period. So perhaps it was a localised strike that stopped publication of some titles but not others which were printed elsewhere? Or maybe, if it was related to power supply rationing, IPC could only get enough to print a percentage of their titles and had to prioritise their higher sellers?
