Thanks for your efforts. Seems that I’m having trouble with the uk2112 labelled files. Downloaded them, WinRAR and WinZip both tell me that they cannot be opened, “may be corrupted, blah blah blah. File manager tells me they have 150mb contents or so, but won’t extract. Any ideas ?

That was fast Mr Tweedy! Thanks a lot for these last additions: we have two more issues from Mr. Kennedy and one from Solano Lopez…
I’m thinking to write these lists under each author to have a useful reference but I do not see all the names I would like to, such as Moliterni, Pratt, D’Antonio, Breccia…
What do you say boutje? Would these information fit your project or this is just mine OCD overwhelming my judgement? 😉

Hello, thanks, if you have information on artists that worked on British comics you can pass these in a comment and i will make sure they will have their own page. I will delete the comment after i saved the text.

Ask Colin Noble for that info. He is examining the whole Commando series comic by comic for all sorts of story details. Maybe he has some for Fleetway.

I’ve read Holland’s Fleetway Index Vol.1 and aside from the fact that there are some titles with the ‘Unknown’ author from the beginning, the problem is to cross reference the later issues that were labelled just as ‘(reprints Series XXX)’: Fleetway inserted a lot of reprints without following any order and in the book these are just identified by their number and you have to seek it to find out more details. To complicate the things further the 2103 issues in the War series not only include reprints from the other three series not in a particular order, but many later numbers are reprints from the same War original series.
The few reprints I was able to find here in digital form are of a lower quality hence it would be best to find the originals’.
So to say that I’m not 100% sure I did not miss some of the issues from my favorite Authors, and anyway I’m planning to have a few more lists as soon as I recognize some other Authors I like.
As before * means a reprint and > means we haven’t got it yet:

Brilliant site, takes me back 40 years. There’s one i just can’t seem to get my hands on, and that’s Air Ace issue 380 Invisible Contact. I can’t find it anywhere…I’m pretty sure I had it as a kid and I can remember some of the story but i just want to read it again and confirm if its the one I remember as a kid.

would really like to find two stories. One is issue 381 ACE IN THE HOLE with some great Ian Kennedy art. the other I don’t know the title of. It was a halifax squadron coming to a new airfield and the CO flattened some old burial mounds and the squadron had nothing but bad luck after that. I think it was in a holiday special

I’ve been looking for the Halifax Squadron one too. Starts with airman being hit by a landing Halifax on runway and dropping a stone he’d picked up from the burial mound. Everyone who handled it after that had misfortune. First read it in the early 1970’s I think. Would love to know what the story was called.

I also remember that episode: I believe I did read it not that long ago but now I find difficult to find it…
I’m not sure it was on any holiday specials, and I did believe it was drawn by Solano Lopez, but I may be wrong.

I’ve found the one with the story about the burial mounds near the Halifax squadron airstrip base: it’s the Air Ace #81 Bomber’s Grave with drawings by Ferdinando Tacconi.
The story begins with a man in civilian clothes visiting an abandoned airport after the war, so much alike those very suggestive scenes you see in the movie ‘Twelve O’ Clock High’…
Although Tacconi is a skilful artist with a very personal and recognizable style, it’s not to my liking especially in his aircraft, tanks, and general weapons depictions. He cannot compare with the details and precision of the works of artists such as Ian Kennedy or Kurt Caesar: I’ve found on the web some amazing pencil works of this last one as he was in North Africa in the Afrika Korps…!

Have no idea the issue number or title, but I’m looking for particular story about a mysterious WW2 RAF Hurricane Pilot called “Flight Sgt Fury”, he had a peculiar ringed planet icon on his plane that looked like Saturn. He has some sort 6th sense to help him save his fellow pilots lives in the air, at his own welfare and personal safety. It follows his journey through the Battle of Britain even as he volunteers as a CAM pilot on a Murmansk convoy. Was my absolute favourite as a kid and I read it till it fell apart. It was quite a long story so I think it may have been a holiday special.

Hello: Thanks for your effort in preserving history and old memories. Your 22-03 updates to Air Ace PL seems to be problematic – its been complaining about too many users for several weeks.

You are welcome. I can’t help, they work fine for me and most others. You have to find a solution yourself, sorry. Just do a search on the internet with the problem and you will find solutions that may help. Also there are many suggestions made for solving problems in comments also.

Hello, I’m trying to rebuilt all stories of Ferdinando Tacconi for Fleetway.
Here is a list of all his volumes in Air Ace Picture Library:
No. 11 – Scramble
No. 37 – Last of the Gladiators
No. 54 – Target Turpitz
No. 69 – Seafire
No. 81 – Bombers Grave
No. 97 – Day of Judgement
No. 110 – A Debt is Paid
No. 135 – Point Blank
No. 150 – One Way Ticket
No. 342 (2024) – Eagles Fly High
No. 349 – Duel over Malta
No. 378 – Avoiding Action
No. 423 – Stowaway
I’ve managed to find everyone except 349 and 423. Can someone help me in knowing where to find them or, eventually, if they’ve been reprinted in the further years? Thanks in advance!
